[Akodo Amuro]

"Small spaces carry words quickly, even if one promises not to speak them. As such, no matter how I answer that, there will be rumors Daidoji-san." the Lion said resolutely. "Regardless of that fact, I will still keep it to myself, and our Captain, who I am certain also knows." The Akodo finished his line apologetically and with a thing smiles still on his lips.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi grins. "One cannot argue with that, nor fault a man for wanting to keep personal matters personal. Why, I've already heard quite scandalous things about Iuchi Rinzuki-san, not that I would hasten to repeat them, mind you. I understand that she's...sensitive about it."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi quietly ignores their conversation, seemingly determined to get the patch affixed to the front of her shirt. Whatever her skills at stitching people back together, her skills at making a pretty seam on fabric... leaves something to be desired. Nevertheless... she seems perfectly happy to rip it all out and start again.

[Akodo Amuro]

"I heard there was an issue with a peasant, who crossed lines that he should never have dared consider let alone come near. But the exact words are unimportant to me."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"He made a mistake, certainly. Unfortunately, some are less interested in the harmony of the crew than their pride."
His tone makes it ambiguous which party he is referring to. "I found the entire matter distasteful, and am shamed that I was involved. Fortunately, I shall soon atone for that and the cycle will be complete. Or rather, as complete as possible."

[Akodo Amuro]

The Akodo raises an eyebrow at the comment. It was probably not a good time to say that he agreed with the Unicorn, as much as it pained him to say. "Do as you must Daidoji-san, but I do not think spilling your guts is a necessary step in a shame such as this, but I will not question anothers need to keep their honor."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"Oh, nothing that final. I am not dishonored utterly, merely shamed that I have yet to receive the punishment I deserve for endangering the life of a crew member, and that that failure of will brought about this one. It is a common story, in temples, of how a step off the Path leads to a string of them, but never have I seen it so powerfully illustrated."

[Akodo Amuro]

If you are shamed by no punishment you generally have three choices. The first I mentioned, the second is to await a time when the conveining officer chooses to administer the punishment, and the third is to dishonor your commander by taking actions into your own hands to sooth your wounded honor." The lion says as if quoting a lesson from his long years. "The choice of course is yours."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"The choice has been made," Fuichi says with finality. "It is only a question of when."

[Akodo Amuro]

Of course, Daidoji-san. Thank you again for the salve. he bows politely as he speaks.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi returns the bow. "It has been a delight to speak with you, Akodo-san. Do not be a stranger."

[Akodo Amuro]

I'd never dream of it. Good day to you Shiba-san. the Lion bowed again and took his leave of the sick bay.

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi offers a polite bow to the receding back of the Lion. It seems she's got the patch in place and either doesn't want to mess with it anymore or that it might somehow seem acceptable to her. With the thread going in all sorts of random directions, one would hope that it was more of the former than the latter.

"W-what do you think D-daidoji-san?"

[Daidoji Fuichi]

He leaned down to examine it. "Shiba-san, you are a great healer, but my father would slap me silly if I presented that to him." He sat down. "I am not a great hand at sewing like my brother Kosui, but if you like I can show you how to sew in a patch."

[Shiba Nozomi]

She looks properly abashed at his comment and her ears turn a little pink. "It's a g-good thing your f-father isn't here, isn't it, th-then?"

She holds out the shirt to him, as well as the small utility knife that she had used to rip out the stitches twice already.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"Oh, don't take it badly, Shiba-san! I was slapped many times before I learned."

He calmly and efficiently ripped out the stitches. "Now, the important thing is to keep the stitching even and precise. Try to angle it slightly and maintain that angle. Like when you are writing calligraphy, but somewhat smaller. Like so."

He presented a completed side.

"Now you try."

[Shiba Nozomi]

She tries and it looks a good bit better. The fabric doesn't react like skin does, though, and it's really throwing her off. "W-was your father a sh-shugenja, too?"

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi smiled. "The Daidoji tend to be spirtually inert, and I am definitely an anomaly in my family. It's part of the reason I am here instead of in the Daidoji Navy or Shinden Asahina. Father is the captain of the Iron Orchid, as my grandfather was, and his father, and so on back for some time. My brothers are both sailors as well."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi gives him a wavery smile. "S-sounds like a f-family tradition...

[Daidoji Fuichi]

He nodded.
"As inescapable as Uikku's prophecies."
