Day 1, Late Evening/Midnight, OPEN Cleaning before Bed

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"That should likely be more than few days wait to see that next bottle out. It only makes our timing much more fortunate then. Thank you again for sharing this brew with us, I hope to catch the toast on the next occasion."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"I'll be releasing some of my last batch once we anchor up at the Coral Islands." O-washi smiled pleasantly. "I've got a whole barrel of it in the hold, enough for the whole crew."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi glanced up for a moment with a peculiar look, releasing a small breath. "Mm...It seems that the Half Moon's secret is now out in the open Isawa-gunso. You could have at least allowed Asahina-san bathe in the impression that she had the only drops of sake left on the ship. You needn't steal her thunder."

[Asahina Narumi]

Narumi just smiles at the thought, "I wouldn't be able to share with everyone, not enough to go around. I'm glad that the crew will have something to celebrate with. Since Isawa-gunso's recipe is for medicinal use it probably has a bit more kick to it as well."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Not precisely. There is, of course, sake fit only for mising with the herbs that work best when exposed to the fire in the liquid." As a lover of sake, the big gunso couldn't quite supress a grimace. "The idea of drinking it for pleasure is horrifying, however. No, my supply of actually good sake is well hidden...and protected, for that matter. Thus, this generosity is something that should still be greatly appreciated."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"Good. And thus Asahina's favour is preserved, an exclusive honour." She said in jest then turned serious again with a few nods. "There is only good reason in keeping quality sake hidden. Even there aren't those who have a dire need of the drink, there are likely some occasions some may think that fraternizing prematurely is a good idea. It's best to keep such element missing from such people."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Which is why the stock is both hidden and warded." O-washi's face turned sly. "Pity anyone who tries to get at it...the screaming wakes the whole damn ship."

[Asahina Narumi]

"Likely such a stir would severely affect ones reputation. Hopefully we won't have need to joke at such a person's expense in the future," Narumi replies. "Though that does seem to be a staple of a ship's entertainment." She has an approving smile on her face, almost as if she is used to hazing and such. She was likely the punchline of more than a few jokes in the past.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi took on a pensive look, "Depending if said ward allows them to get away with all limps intact...even then I'm guessing it's still fair game?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Is she really seeking implied approval to try and steal from the gunso? Nobuyoshi wonders. It's not like people are naturally suspicious of Scorpions....

Asking a question of the gunso, even one like that, required Nobuyoshi to simply sip his sake quietly while awaiting a response.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Hazing is always fair game." The gunso saluted Narumi with his cup. "And, no, my wards don't do anything physical to a person...that'd just be making more work for myself as the ship's usual medic, neh?" Grinning, he winked at Hoshi. "Last fool who tried it needed new fundoshi, though. You can guess the sort of name he got for that."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

With her chin rested on her hand, Hoshi hazarded to poke at guessing it. "Mm...Screaming and a sudden need of new fundoshi in the middle of the night, akin much to a 'baby' of a few months old...Even if no medics were involved, it's doubtful anyone would find joy in playing parent to a grown man."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Far too easy." Blue eyes that were still the color of a sun-dappled sea despite it being well past dark glimmered at the Scorpion woman in clear good humor. "A hint, then...it was an ironic name, not so straightforward as the one we gave my poor Cousin is, for example."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi's gaze drifted off as she tried to narrow down the possibilities for what this moniker for the intruder could be. ...Would that be something like an owl then? Or maybe a hummingbird for the (lack of) grace he exhibited? Feeling that she was perhaps far off, a went with her intuition on something that wasn't a bird. "-Ah...a cat would be known for their graceful and mischievous natures, they tend to find their way through without being caught." Of course also known for causing a mewing ruckus at night...

[Asahina Narumi]

The Asahina continues listening intently, being thoroughly entertained by the tale and the guessing. The gunso was probably well trained in the picking of nicknames after so many iterations and she was interested to find out what the sake thief had gotten.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Nearer now, for it was indeed something related to the animal kingdom."

The Isawa sipped his sake.

"One more try before I forever hold my silence and you'll be left to burn with curiosity."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi was completely fine with letting Hoshi play her game, either coming up with the correct answer, or failing and being left to burn forever in her curiousity. He didn't really care what some sake thief was called in the past. Still, that didn't mean he couldn't wonder mentally at it.

Lightning Bug? Firefly? Cricket? he considers, apparently stuck on an insect theme.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi lifted her brows with a faint, but amused smile. "-Ah? Only one more try? I think I'm being put on the spot to figure this one out. If I only have one left, then would it be fair for me to keep that chance until I have a better estimate Isawa-gunso?"

"...Asahina-san's delicious sake has my sense preoccupied tonight." She used that excuse in jest.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"I see no reason why not. We've a good few weeks left aship together, after all."

Settling back again, the gunso sighed in contentment. "Counting landfalls too, of course. It's good to stretch one's legs for more than the ship's deck now and again and we can always stand to replenish our supplies."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi nods.

"That makes sense." Nobuyoshi offers. "How long can a ship like the Half Moon stay out at sea without taking on supplies, I wonder. I suppose the limiting factor would be clean water."
