Not unless you wanted one of the two of them to end up drowning. The mantis thought as he confirmed the scorpions suspensions. "Separate skiffs sometimes if ya have the means for it but aye never the same one. Like it or not though all of us will probably find our self's on a skiff before this trip is over for various reasons of course. So I hope ya know at least a little bit about fishing."

Iuchi's eyes brightened. "I do." he nodded, smiling. "Used to fish a lot when I had the chance. It's bit different at the sea, though. Though, I have to admit I assumed that the skiffs were for fishing and not for... time alone." he added, somewhat confused. "I mean, you pretty much need two to fish effectively anyway."

"Went once fishing with Hida-san, we caught some smelts." he added. "After several days of dried fish and rice... It was heaven." the man chuckled.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Perhap's we'll have to go out sometime then Bayushi-san I figure I can show you a thing or two about fishing if ya like." He said to the scorpion before turning towards the Iuchi. "Well I never said you take skiffs out alone but two people in a lil boat with nothing with but around you is more or less the most alone time you are gonna get on a ship."

Before he paused and looked over the crew for a moment. "You three do know the cook prepares two hot meals a day don't ya? Or did no one tell you when meal time was?"

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"Maybe 'time away' would be a better choice of words from Yoritomo-san." She said, and after a pause, answered with a few small nods. "...I'm sure we'll be able to find an occasion after we clear these skies."

"Hai. I know, but I tend to miss them. Maybe once the duty roosters are up, it should better my chances."

[Asahina Narumi]

"I've never fished before. I've seen men fishing on the creeks back home during the spring and summer months and they seem at peace. I imagine it is relaxing." The Asahina chimes in.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi nodded once, "It would make for a good comparison...Unless creek or lakes, there is a concern for predators from what I heard from the heimen."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"It is, it is." the Unicorn nodded, sympathetically. "On the land, all you have to do is cast your catch and lay down, waiting. You are doing something, yet you have all the time in the world to think." he chuckled. "I like it."

"On the sea, it's bit different, as you have to take care of the boat. So you can't exactly space out. But still, very relaxing. And if things go well, you have some fresh fish to eat." the man told her, smiling.

"Hoshi-san is also correct, though... as long as you do not dive to the sea yourself, you are fine."

[Asahina Narumi]

"Well, I imagine I should learn to do so. A good activity for honoring Haruhiko-kami," the Asahina replies with a smile. "Though I fear I will be much to busy learning how to do something more productive on the ship. Medical care, after all, leaves one with idle hands if nobody is sick or injured."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"And there are quite a few talented healers on board." he added. "Shiba Nozomi-san and Agasha-san for example."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"True enough Iuchi-san." Kaito says as he puts his pipe to his lips.

"There's likely always something to learn to do on a ship as well Ashina-san." The Yoritomo adds after a few long drags on his pipe. "Between the taking care of the ship, weapons training, sailing, navigating and all the others tasks there's more do learn then most will have time for."

[Asahina Narumi]

Narumi also takes a few drags from her kiseru while the Yoritomo speaks.

"This is going to be quite the learning experience. It has been so far, of course, but I get the feeling that we've not really experienced anything to stressing thus far."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"Have you cast the coins regarding the future of this assignment, then?" he asked, her curious.

[Asahina Narumi]

"Unfortunately, when reading that far out there are a great number of intersecting and overlapping omens. To look for something of such a duration in the coins requires more specificity, so at best I can only see hints at what's to come a day or two beforehand for something involving so many individuals," she replies. "But my readings thus far have been mostly pleasant or uneventful, with no astoundingly ill omens being present."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"Ah, I see." he murmured. "As noted, I haven't had the chance to study the subject, so please pardon my strange question."

"That's good, at least." he nodded when she told him that the portents had good thus far. "Reassuring." The man smiled to all three present.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Is it ever a good idea to marvel at the lack of ill omens? Hoshi's expression brightened with a few nods. "Hai Iuchi-san, I think the good word should keep some of us from pestering some of the more experienced crew. The only thing we need to worry about is meeting their expectations."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

Man nodded, smiling. "Lets hope so."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

That Iuchi really seems to take omens seriously. Thought Kaito as the conversation returned to the cranes ability to divine the future. "Ain't much else you can do about it anyways except adds a few prayers to the fortunes. Trouble will come or it won't generally on it's own accord. As Bayushi-san said though best not to worry about it."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

That's not quite what I said. "I doubt there would be much time to do so once our assignments are up." Hoshi shrugged nonchalantly and went to her feet. "With that, I think that's maybe enough air for me tonight and I'll be giving sleep a chance. Thank you for the conversation minasan." She bowed politely to excuse herself.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Thank you for joining us Bayushi-san hope ya have a pleasant sleep." Came Kaito's reply as he gave the samurai-ko a seated bow.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Don't go put words in my mouth while I'm gone. "I hope likewise to you Yoritomo-san, and minasan." She said in parting and then made her way to the deck below.

[Asahina Narumi]

"The expectations of the instructors is the first and foremost duty for us to be concerned with." The Asahina adds.

The Asahina bowed to Hoshi as she left. "I hope you rest well Bayushi-sama," she replies in a friendly tone.
