Jishaku grins. "Surely it can't be all that bad Daidoji-sama? I might get to take the wheel, and have somewhat diverting conversations with new recruits. Then again, I'd end up having to train eager young samurai like myself so..." He lets the thought trail off with good humour. She seemed alright this Crane who reminded him more of a Crab or a Lion and he was enjoying her company and insight.

Kiriyo's expression grew very solemn and she turned to look at him again."There's also the strain of running a ship. Never forget that every person on board's life is under your hand. One misspin of the wheel and you've damned them all to a watery death."

[Akodo Jishaku]

He closes his eyes and nods with equal solemnity. "I shall not forget Daidoji-sama. Suitengu-no-kami has been kind to me with his blessings, but I am aware I have much to learn of life on the ocean before being entrusted with such a responsibility." He gives her a level look. "For now I must simply focus on learning from those who know this life better than I. I think I am at least a willing student."
