A glint of surprise in his eyes.

"Oh no Moshi-sama, the apologies are mine. I did not realise you had healing training as well. With so many priests onboard it is difficult to remember everyone's skills."

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"Well, I'm no medic by any means but I know enough to get by. And... how do you remember everyone's skills? Seems like a lot of work to me." She shifted her book and kiseru.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

He blinked.

"Remembering what everyone can do my become critical during an emergency or a combat. It seemed an obvious thing to do."

[Moshi Chihiroko]

She kinda shrugged. "I suppose so but are you certain that it's efficient? I mean, running around on a ship during an emergency while trying to find one specific person might just cause more chaos. Granted there is merit in your idea. Just shouldn't there be a more streamlined way to go about it?"

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"Oh every skill is repeated many times throughout the crew. The Imperial Legion is fluid enough to not rely on one person for any one thing. There are at least four perhaps five trained healers onboard for example, and even more priests capable of channeling the Water kami. It is more a matter of remembering sets of people."

He blinked again. This seemed such a normal thought to him that someone questioning it surprised him.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

Then if there are sets of people with multiple skills, shouldn't someone always be around when needed...? Wouldn't the Imperial Legion be smart enough to spread those skills around? Seemed like pure logic to her but who was she to argue with a Phoenix. Chihiroko began to wonder if the Agasha carried a notebook with him so he wouldn't forget.

"This is true. I guess that's why they say 'before anything else, preparation is the key to success'." She nodded once and continued poking around behind the Agasha. "I haven't really met many of our other shipmates to take stock of their skills. Those I have bumped into seem rather interesting."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"It is such a widespread group. Some of every Great Clan and a scattering of Minor. Although not as many of your own clan, thinking of your predilection for naval warfare."

An observation perhaps. He obviously wasn't old enough to remember the last war between their clans.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"I also expected quite a few more Mantis than I've seen but then again everyone has their own reasons for being here. I heard a handful are here because they have to be and others because they want to be." A sideways glance was cast at Qian-Fan. "What of yourself?"

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"Someone noted my work with my Clan's intervention at Toshi Ranbo. A recommendation was made. I would have been here much earlier if not for the War."

He carefully closed the cabinet he had taken the willow bark from.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"Have you ever served on a ship before?" At least someone thought he deserved to be here. Figured it couldn't hurt to get to know him a little better.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

A shake of the head.

"Never. Hadn't been on anything bigger than a river barge until this vessel. Moshi-sama has before, I assume?"

It would be a good guess the Mantis had, but best to check.
