(Moon 14, Afternoon, Crew Quarters) Triage

[Akodo Jishaku]

The gunso received a deep bow as Jishaku smoothly strolled into the room. With a quick look around he made his way over to the group and hunkered down to await the lesson.

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi nods to everyone in lieu of a proper bow as they entered. When the Mantis with the kittens comes in, her pale eyes get a little wider and she gently nudges Qi-Fan. Then she turns her attention to the lesson in front of them, not wishing to be overly inattentive in what she's generally on a ship to do.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

At the nudge, Qian-Fan looks down and then across, a small smile coming to his features at the kittens before returning his attention to the burly Isawa.

[Isawa O-Washi]

No time like the present to begin, or so deemed O-washi. His sense of time was fairly good and he knew that if he didn't hurry any chance to visit the Shrine would be lost, both to him and the rest.

"First off, I want to extend an apology to those of you doing double lessons today."

One hand rubbed wearily at his goatee.

"The fact of the matter is that I'm going to be on night scout duty the next few days and I won't have the temper to be teaching. You've all been as good a group of recruits as we could ask and you don't deserve to be growled at because I'm surly, so it's best to handle this now."

Rising, he opened the chest he'd been on and pulled out a dozen rolls of bandages and an equal number of slim wooden poles, as big around as two of a man's fingers and about a forearm long. Sitting back down, he surveyed the group again.

"This trip, we're blessed with a fair number of trained healers." Blue-green eyes fell on those who were present for a moment before he continued on. "During a crisis, though, it's useful for every person on a crew to know the basics. The idea is to keep your brothers alive until a real healer can look at them, ideally mobile so that they can get away on their own power if it comes to that. Accordingly, we're going to cover how to stop bleeding and splint breaks or sprains. Happily, most of us have been lucky not to get hurt too badly but if any of you beside Usagi-san here have something injured, come on up here...you'll be our examples."

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku had a few bruises from his regular sparring sessions with Musasha, but nothing that really counted as an injury. At least not to him. So he kept quiet and waited to see who would step forward.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi recalled the bumbling Usagi from her run-in the night before, perhaps she missed the part where he took on a share of his bumps from his heartbreak from land. I can't ignore the early clumsy ones, they tend to do best.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha steps up, "Ya lef' me wi' a smartin' pair o' bruises, sensei. It ain't too bad after a good night rest, but enough tha' ya ken show 'em a quick field poltice er a shoulder splint."

He shrugs, and hits his shoulder on a support beam on the way up with a sickening crunch. "There, now I need a good shoulder splint."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan actually flinches as he hears the Crab slam his shoulder into the beam but resists rushing to help. O-Washi had said this was primarily for those who were not specifically trained in these skills. Perhaps today, the Agasha would be a teacher rather than a student.

"Perhaps those of us who are trained healers should act as injured for the others to train on?"

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

Aww, great. Now I get a Cran to practise on me.. Xiao Hua sighed, involuntarily.

[Isawa O-Washi]

O-washi shook his head at Musasha's action. "Matsu's bountiful tits, man, that wasn't necessary..." Still, the ghost of a smile crossed his lips for a moment. "Right, then, Agasha-san's got a good notion, though I think it'd be better if the trained healers guide those who aren't on our walking wounded first."

He gestured first to Zenko, then to Musasha, then to the wounded ashigaru (who had weakly accepted the Daidoji's apology).

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "I know, sensei, but if they ain't got a proper injury ta work on, they might not take it as seriously, an' I'm likely ta be one o' th' injured. Rather 'em fix up somethin' superficial now an' learn it so's when it's my life they keepin' in me, they do it right."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Strange Crab logic at that, especially after the talk of repairs from the surly Moshi this morning...

[Isawa O-Washi]

Crab logic, if it could be called that, actually got a full grin that time. "A damn fine point, I suppose, though don't go gashing yourself to teach 'em to stitch, eh?"

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki props her leg up on one of the lower berths and looks back at the unskilled trainees.

"I've a bit of a muscle cramp, if anyone wants to practice rubbing one out."

[Shinjo Qulan]

Qulan didn't dare look at Rinzuki's leg. Oh no. She steadily avoided that route. Not getting embarrassed this time!

[Kakita Sugita]

Rinzuki props her leg up on one of the lower berths and looks back at the unskilled trainees.

"I've a bit of a muscle cramp, if anyone wants to practice rubbing one out."

"Eh. I've seen better to rub one out over", a Crane replies crudely while looking unimpressed.

[Isawa O-Washi]

O-washi wasn't in the mood for flirting today. "Cramps aren't of concern for this lesson, Iuchi-san. Here." He threw a roll of bandage in her direction. "Help a group of two others with Hida-san."

[Asahina Narumi]

A quiet Asahina in the back watched the room with interest. She had no injuries nor a large need for practice. The crude comment from the Kakita garnered a quizzical glance from her but nothing more. She approached the Hida who had injured himself at their sensei's suggestion of experience healers aiding the inexperienced ones. She approached the front in anticipation of aiding the others.

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko glances briefly at Rinzuki's offer, before turning back to his newest duty. Hmm...

"Ohhh.." he holds a hand up to his forehead. "Ahhh....my leg, how it hurts." He sits down himself. "The fall from the rigging..." He tries fighting away a grin appearing on his face.

He holds his leg in the methodology of horrible actors everywhere.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki catches the bandages and shrugs, before heading over to help show the others how to properly splint a shoulder. "Cramps are more fun."
