[Yasuki Himiko]

"No no no, if yer gonna punch someone, ye wanna hurt 'em, not tickle 'em. Like this." Himiko gives Rinzuki a solid punch, not enough to do real damage, but certainly enough to push her back a couple of inches.

38 to hit, 2 damage (if ye wanna actually deal with that, of course )

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku smirks at Himiko's reply, watching the exchange between her and the shugenja through dark eyes and a crooked smile. Slowly her fingers curl into fists, the knuckles popping. The after effects of healed up scars can be seen on the woman's knuckles, made all the more apparent with her clenched hands. Off in her corner she throws a few slow jabs of her own, slowly picking up the pace with each practice strike.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki staggers backwards, a look of surprise on her features.

"Y-You hit me!"

With a scowl, she tries to strike Himiko back, but ends up just sort of girl-slapping in her general direction her a few times.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"No she didn't," Yakusoku continues observing, never bothering to veil her amusement, "she tapped ya. If she'd hit ya, trust me, ya'd know it."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko easily pushes the Iuchi's hand aside, then grabs the arm and pulls the Iuchi in, clearly attempting to put the poor little shugenja on the ground. "Attack like ye've got FEELING!" On the last word, she pulls the Iuchi's arm out in an attempt to pull her off balance, then steps in and tries to flip the Iuchi over her shoulder.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki gets flipped through the air like a squealing sack of perfumed potatoes, and lands flat on her stomach, with her bottom sticking up in the air. There's a whimper, and she flops over to the side.

"...oww..."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko shakes her head and smacks Rinzuki hard on the ass. "C'mon, get up. Clearly we're gonna hafta teach ye te fall properly before anythin' else. Another bad landin' like that and ye'll break yer neck." Himiko looks around, trying to find some sort of padding for the floor.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

There's a not entirely unpleasant squeal at the smack, and Rinzuki quickly hops to her feet, one hand rubbing at her bottom. "Whatever you say, Yasuki-sama!"

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku winces a bit at the bad landing though her eyes widen back to normal when Himiko gives the other girl a swat. Shaking her head she continues with her practice strikes glancing around when the Crab mentions padding. "Don't think yer gonna find nothin' worth usin' Yasuki-san. Even improvisin' is gonna probably leave ya fallin' on stuff that's no better than the floor."

[Yasuki Himiko]

With no padding to set on the ground, Himiko just shakes her head and sits down. "Now, the fall is a very important thing, whether yer gettin' knocked over or thrown. A smart fall'll minimize damage done to ye and protect vital regions. A bad fall will hurt like a bitch." Himiko then holds her hands out in front of her, then tucks her chin in and rolls back, smacking the floor with her hands as her back hits. "This is a pretty simple one. By smackin' yer hands, you put more of yerself on the floor. More of yerself on the floor, less pain ye feel. Pretty simple." She hops up and motions for the Iuchi to get down. "Go for it. Make sure ye put some force behind them dainty little hands o yers, or the entire exercise will be about as useful as throwin' a rice ball at a horse."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki considered mentioning that she has seen horses that can catch rice balls out of the air, but decides against it. "Okay, hands out," she says, mimicking the Crab's stance. "And then..."


The falling part never seems to come, however; instead, Rinzuki just sort of sways back and forth a bit while she stares down at the floor in trepidation.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku snorts softly at the display, doing her best not to laugh and patiently waiting for Himiko to kick the poor Iuchi's feet out from under her.

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Come on, now, don't be afraid of it." As Yakusoku predicts, Himiko kicks the legs out from underneath Rinzuki, forcing her to either do it right or have a sore back.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

As it turns out, Rinzuki chooses poorly.

She winces as she strikes the ground, and just sort of lays there for a moment, staring up at Himiko.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko places her face in her palm, shaking her head. "Hida lend me yer patience..." She walks over to Rinzuki and holds out a hand. "Come on, git up. I know, it hurts, that's natural. I know three people ever who did it right the first time, and unfortunately we're tryin te train ye without good padding."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki groans as she takes the offered hand and allows herself to be pulled up. "I feel like I just got mounted by an Otaku steed," she grumbles.

[Yasuki Himiko]

"I imagine if something like that happened, ye'd have a broken back, ye poor girl." she sighs as she lifts up the Iuchi and pats her on the shoulder. "If ye want, we can wait til later te keep the trainin' up. I'll see about arranging fer some real pads when we get to a port."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Heh," Yakusoku chuckles and shakes her head, "girl's almost to the point where she can talk like a sailor. Hope ya can teach'er to fight like one." Her dark eyes turn to regard the Iuchi, lingering there when Himiko gives her the chance to walk away.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"I have prayers of healing," she says with a shake of her head. "And I don't mind a bit of rough play."

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Alright. Try it again, then. And try to do it yerself this time, unless ye wanna be dropped on yer head again." Himiko crosses her arms and watches carefully.
