Moon 12, Afternoon, Foredeck: I spy (UNICORN)

[Shinjo Qulan]

"The ropes?" Qulan motioned to the rope she lowered for the other two.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"Jumping down would be one way. Not very smart though. Rigging sounds like a better idea." Iuchi offered. "And, a deft climber could probably slide down, holding their arms around the mast. At least, part of the trip down."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Jumping into the water?" Rinzuki suggests.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"The rope we used as a harness is one way." He smile his approval at the two who'd suggested it. "You can also slide down one of the great ropes that supports the mast..."

Reaching up, he grabbed one that dipped at a wicked angle toward the ground. "You'd do your legs no favors but it's a sight better than hitting the deck from falling. Magic is another way, at least for the air-aspected."

Slowly, he grinned. "The last way, which Kitten here has worked out, is damn hard but arguably fastest and, if you can manage it, safest as long as you're a decent swimmer."

Handing the pipe tp Xiao Hua, O-washi rose to his feet, balancing carefully on the spar.

"Get ready to use that call I just taught you...Knots is waiting for it."

Then, with no further ado, the Isawa ran across the length of the beam, just barely managing to make it to the end before pitching himself off, plummetting down in a graceful dive to splash into the sea.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

Iuchi shrugged, and jumped after, diving to the sea as if he was one of the fabled pearl diving women.

[Shinjo Qulan]

Without any fear for her own safety, the graceful sangotatsu proved once again to be one with the water.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki looks down at the beam for a long moment, and then turns her gaze back to the horizon.

"It's actually quite nice up here!" she calls down to them. "I think I'll just...stay up here and admire the view for a bit!"

[Isawa O-Washi]

Good-naturedly, O-washi splashed some water at Xiao Hua. "You daft fool, you forgot to do the piping first...now how the blazes are we going to get up without slicing our hands to ribbons?"

Looking up to the distant Iuchi, the big man waved and called, "Just use the rope to slide down and then throw us a rope, eh?"

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Okay!"

It takes Rinzuki a minute or two to work her way down the rope, but soon a rope has been tossed overboard, and safely tied to the mast.

"You're tied off," she says, looking over the edge. "Should I get some others to help pull you all up?"

[Isawa O-Washi]

The big Isawa, it seemed, needed no such aid...he swarmed up the rope as easily as anything, turning with it still in his grasp to help the others if it proved necessary. "Arigatou, Iuchi-san." If he noticed or cared that this left him bent forward at the waist with his still-streaming clothes plastered to his rather firm backside, he gave no sign.

[Shinjo Qulan]

Qulan, too, climbed up with relative ease. She was quite the little athlete, fitting for a Shinjo.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

The Iuchi, on the other hand slipped and fell back to the sea.

[Isawa O-Washi]

O-washi, laughing, said, "See? If you'd piped and shimmied, we wouldn't have this problem.."

Then he hopped back in to assist the poor Unicorn up before he did something unfortunate like loose the whistle or, you know, drown.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

With the help of the large man, the poor, damp man managed finally to climb back to the deck. Coughing and wheezing, he leaned to the railing. "Needs a little bit of practise, that."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki gently brushes some of the water from Xiao Hua's shoulders.

"At least you weren't attacked by a tentacle monster," she offers, in way of raising his spirits.

[Shinjo Qulan]

Qulan remained relatively quiet, she just rolled her shoulder a bit to ease the soreness of so much climbing.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"Ah, yeah." the man nods, without flinching from her touch. "At least."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

With Xiao Hua "dried off," quotation marks very intended, Rinzuki turns her attentions to Qulan, her hands brushing water from her shoulders and back with all the care of a Crane personal attendant.

[Shinjo Qulan]

Unlike her male clan mate, Qulan did very much tense up. "Ah... Th-thank you, Rinzuki-chan."

Tell me, Lady Shinjo, what would you do?

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

Xiao Hua watched the vertical massage-session with some interest. They said things about battle maidens. And, if it applied to the Utaku, it might also apply to Iuchi and Shinjo as well.

The logistics of it, however, escaped from him.
