"Well said." he nodded to the other man.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Kichirou blushed a bit at the complement....or maybe he was turning green again, it was hard to tell.

"My instructors always told me I was too direct with my wording. Its something they hoped my time at court would help overcome."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"See any courts near by, Bayushi-san? I think your frankness will serve you here well."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

That set the chatty Scorpion to chuckling a bit his stomach apparently soothed for the time being, "From what I've seen Iuchi-san even a 'frank' Scorpion is a bit too.... loquacious for a naval vessel. Though I do find you both to be wonderful company, as well as forgiving of my predicament."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"Well, we... or at least I have been there before." the man nodded. "As for being talkative, it's not like the sailors are particularly close-mouthed."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko shrugs. "We're all in this together. I doubt ye'll be pullin' standard scorpion shenanigans when I can push ye over the boat."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Kichirou laughs a bit, "I'm aware of the perception most have of my clan Yasuki-san. All I can hope is that those on this ship are willing to take me as an individual first and a Scorpion second. As you say, we are all in this together as well. You can trust your back to me as I'm sure I can trust mine to either of you."

[Yasuki Himiko]

She grins devilishly. "Good. As I said, I'd hate to have to throw ye off the boat. 's a lot of effort I don't wanna waste on yer ass."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"Well at least you think I'll be a lot of effort." Kichirou says with a laugh and grin of his own as he finally looses his footing and drops to his butt. Deciding it was probably best to stay where he was he folded his legs up under himself and sat properly....though he was still sliding a bit as the boat pitched and rolled through the waves.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

Unicorn stood silent, wondering if he had what it took to prepare the antidotes he might need if the girl actually threw the Scorpion overboard.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"So what brought each of you to service in the Ninth?" he asks even as he slides up against the railing only to push himself off with a free hand.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko shrugs lightly. "I was told to be here. Superiors thought I'd be a good fit, and I ain't one to complain. Been wantin' to be on a boat since I was a tiny one anyhow."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"Its my understanding the Crab have their own giant sailing vessels though. Why not service on one of those?" The question seems innocent enough and Kichirou does seem genuinely interested even as he slides like a sack of potatoes along the deck.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"This and that. Sense I could do something different." the man nodded.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"Different than what Iuchi-san? It must have been appropriate if you could just decide service in the Imperial Legion was to your liking. My own family spent a month working through Imperial bureaucracy to finalize my transfer." Kichirou asked seemingly as intent on the Unicorn's answer as he was on the Crab's.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko shrugs noncommittally. "'t ain't my place to tell my daimyo where I should or shouldn't be placed, Bayushi-san. He knew I wanted to be on a boat, and I suspect he may've placed me on this one so that I'd still be fit fer marriage when I returned to the mainland. 's all I can guess, though. Ain't a mind reader, after all."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Kichirou cocked his head to the side, a lot like a dog would when confused, "How would serving on a Crab ship make you unfit for marriage Yasuki-san?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Ever heard of the Sea of Shadow?" She asked rather neutrally.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"Stories and rumors, never a first hand accounting." he says his brain already putting one and one together but determined to let the Crab finish on her own.

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Sea of Shadows are a tainted part of Suitengu's realm. Lot of bad shit goes down there, not the least of which tentacle monsters. Good place to come out tainted and end up unfit fer marriage."
