The two girls had been thrown to the ground with little ceremony before they could continue striking at the Akodo, but didn't look too bad as they got back up to their feet, only a little sore.

Dageki had gotten up almost as quickly as he'd gone down, but the fight was over before he could continue so he paused. Watching as the two teams formed up. The Ashigaru spoke, his voice harsh and more than a bit commanding. "I hope you all paid attention to what Akodo-sama did. Because the only thing he did wrong was lacking a partner!" The Ashigaru actually turned to the man and gave him a proper bow.

Standing straight again, he turned to the collected Samurai. "Facing three opponents like that with no spear of your own, your best chance is to close the distance. Choosing to jump in with the bowmen he forced them to abandon their weapons of choice and switch to weapons they are less skilled with to fight him instead of fire on his fellows, a fight he could have potentially won if he had had a partner to keep the spearman off of him." The ashigaru looked over the collected samurai carefully. "You might be able to fight all honorable sorts of one-on-one battles on land, but on the sea you don't have that luxury. You need the support of the man on your left and your right or you're not gonna make it on this ship."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

The man nodded and approached the group a pair of kama clutched in his hands "Whenever they three of you are ready then Minna-san" He said from the opposite end of the rope ocean as he tried to gauge the others abilities before the action began.

[Akodo Jishaku]

"Come over and let me have a look at you first, Akodo-san...Captain'll have my hide if I get one of you recruits knocked out the first day." Grinning at the Lion's obvious enthusiasm, O-washi fished through his own scrolls, scribed on an oddly golden shiny sort of material.

True enough the Lion's wounds were minor, despite the enthusiasm of the ashigaru, and it was hardly any effort for O-Washi to heal him. He keeps his surprise internal when Dageki actually compliments him, and returns the respectful bow. Jishaku then returns his attention to the other newbies as they take turns at trying out a boarding action.

[Isawa O-Washi]

As one hand lightly touched the back of the Lions to allow the water kami to flow between them, O-washi murmured "Good job, Akodo-san. Bishamon-kami surely smiles on such a willing teacher of his ways." in his ear.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku nods his thanks. "Thank you Gunso. I am honoured." Feeling like he was a genuine member of the crew now the Lion gladly took a place at the gunso's side to watch the next round.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki hangs back, watching the exercises with mild interest and tending to anyone that finds themselves injured during the attack.

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru nods as he is assigned the roll of defender and quickly dashes downs to get a practice bokken as well. It would not be proper to kill a shipmate in training after all. He returns quicker than one might expect with a bokken in his left hand. He takes a keep breath and then waits for the practice to begin.

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

Once O-Washi announces that they will all be taking turns, Choukichi quickly heads down to collect some practice weapons, choosing a pair of short wooden blades for himself. Once back up top he takes a position near the mock boarding and waits for his turn.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

A couple bushi looks like and a priest One archer two defenders that might make things a wee bit tougher. Kaito thinks as he sinks down into his position Ready to begin at a moments notice
