[Isawa Junpei]

The answer was pretty obvious, but then he wasn't sure if he was even meant to answer that, or if it was a rhetorical question. It seemed the later since she'd already focused on something else right afterwords. "I presume she wants me to tie this around you Hida-san, excuse my reach."

Throwing any propriety to the wind, he drove his hand under the water, sleeves and all, reaching around the broader man, doing his best to try and wrap the rope around him twice with as much haste as he could muster. Inevitably this turned more into an awkward looking hug as Junpei's hands met around the floating (in the water) man's back. Then up and over in a process that repeated about three more times to be sure that the rope would hold around him even if his hastily done knot did not.

Tugging on the rope, he called out, "We're as ready down here as we'll ever be."

[Hida Sayuri]

"Got it!" Sayuri calls back, glancing to the Moshi before beginning the slow process of hauling her waterlogged cousin up. There's a rhythm to it, particularly with two people pulling. A familiar rhythm to her; she'll soon see whether the Dragon knows it or not.

Her eyes track to the injured crewman as well, while hands and shoulders take over the work, straining at the weight. Seems a pity to let him be hurt so for the lesson.

[Isawa Junpei]

With just the first pull, the knot grew loose, and before Musasha could even leave the water, it had already undone itself and the yanking was only serving to cause the poor Hida to roll in the water, steadily undoing whatever work Junpei had hoped to accomplish. No no no nononono! Dammit!

"Stop!" Junpei finally shouted. "Just...Just give me a second." He assessed the situation, mulling over what he could do to salvage it. Shaking his head he simply grabbed the free end of the rope, looped it under those crossing the Hida's chest and then bound it behind his shoulder. If he couldn't tie a decent knot then he would just have to help haul the Hida up himself, or at least make sure the rope stayed taught around him. So, grabbing hold of it tightly, he made ready to create some kind of hoist, with him holding one side of the rope, rising steadily with the Crab and Sayuri pulling him steadily up to the deck. "O-Okay!"

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha, to his credit, just kind of stayed limp and bore his indignity as ordered.

[Hida Sayuri]

Easygoing, since her cousin doesn't sound like he's in any actual trouble, Sayuri halts at the Isawa's call, rope still held firmly in her grasp. And unless the gunso orders otherwise, she begins the slow haul again when asked.

"No sharks down there cousin? Hate to think you're bait today."

[Hida Musasha]

"Got my tetsubo...and if Junpei gets that close to hugging me again, I'm gonna be tempted to use it." He seems more than a little indignant.

[Isawa Junpei]

"As much of a charmer as you are, trust me I'm not looking forward to doing this again anytime soon." Junpei slowly rose with the ropes, watching the ascending Hida to make sure he wasn't about to slam his head on anything, after all, that would be just awful.

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

The Kitsuki will brace himself, and begin the task of pulling the Hida up from the water. He strains a little, but soon finds his rhythm.

[Shiba Nozomi]

She does nothing but hold the heimin's arm for a moment, examining the extent of the wound. Suddenly, she jerks his arm in a precise movement, and the bone snaps back into the proper place, likely bringing with it a wave of pain.

"Sumimasen."

Taking a small breath,her lips begin to move over the words of a prayer so familiar to her, she could say them in her sleep. The tiny hands go impossibly cold, and a glow tinges her eyes.

A moment later she releases his arm.

(We'll just agree that his arm is healed, m'kay?)

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan was torn between helping the injured sailor and watching the demonstration as ordered. Then the Shiba ended that quandary for him. He peered over the side carefully, watching what Junpei was doing. At the mention of sharks he reached into his scroll satchel and closed one delicate hand over a scroll.

"No shark will live to reach Isawa-san or Hida-san."

[Yasuki Himiko]

At the Moshi's questioning, Himiko slowly brought herself back to normal. "My apologies, Moshi-sama, laughing at the expense o' my clanmates ain't appropriate. I do understand and appreciate the seriousness of all this, I assure you."

[Hida Sayuri]

Sayuri's lips twitched. Who else could one laugh at, if not a clanmate getting hoisted like a net of fish? But she was the muscle here and kept on reeling the rope in--this was the simple part, really. Would be harder on a tossing deck in a storm.

The Agasha gets an approving nod and a murmured, "thanks Phoenix-san." She'd been kidding, and warding off ill luck by speaking it and showing that it had lost the element of surprise. But it never hurt to be prepared.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

"Good. You're next," her gaze moves from the Yasuki and shift over the rest of her students, "Every one of you is going in the drink at least once this morning and all of you are going to get a chance to fish someone out of the water. I don't want you see you little lilies flailing about screaming for help when someone does go over."

Kaimenko nods her thanks as another five ropes make their appearance. "So get your asses moving and form up groups."

"And no, buttercup, you can't get out of your armor first, though you're welcome to run below and stow your weapons and scrolls," her eyes fix on the Scorpion, narrowing before they sweep away, "COME ON THEN! MOVE IT!"

She bends to pick up one of the coil of ropes, moving away from the railing so her students could get at the railing. "Junpei-san front and center once you get the Hida out of the water!"

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan does not need telling twice to secure his scrolls and wakizashi away below. His book as well. All into his chest and he then returns. Although tempted to change cloths as well, Kaimenko had given him the impression that hanging around to do so would just acquire him the rough side of her tongue. He does though, take the time to tie his hair back into a loose tail as he returns to the training group.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"I doubt fate would be kind enough to allow me the same chance Gunso. I will be fine as I am." Kichirou says bravely as he can muster as he steps up either to be sent overboard or help haul someone up. Training was training after all and the Scorpion would be damned if he was going to be intimidated by practice.

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Wordlessly, the other Scorpion quickly follows the gunso's orders to go below and store weapons. Tempting though it is to try and slip out of armor as well, even a Crab would probably notice a change of attire...probably.

He returns quickly to the rails, and having no orders to the contrary, goes and stands next to Kichiro.

[Hida Sayuri]

Sayuri keeps hauling until Musasha is back aboard, but calls first to Himiko "I'll take that back then if you're about to dive in. S'been wet before, and will be again, but no sense doin' that more than needed."

To the Dragon, as they continue, "so who's to swim first after this? Makes no nevermind ta me, just so long as yon birdie isn't drownin' on our watch."

"Hida Sayuri, by the way," she offers. Seems she's decided they may as well stick with the group they've got.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

"Aww... doesn't that just melt my black little heart, Clan solidarity. I wonder which one's the frog," comes the acid comment as the two Bayushi buddy-up. "You two, decide who's going in. Agasha-san, you'll be working with them and no, you won't have Junpei-san's help."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

The slight Agasha stepped up and looked cooly at the two Scorpions, waiting to see if they had a decision already or if he was going to have to make it for them.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"I will go first. No sense in delaying first hand experiences." Kichirou says with a quick grin before moving slightly further away from the rest of his group. He wasn't sure if the Gunso was going to keep throwing crew at them all day or if he was expected to jump in himself but decided it best to wait as opposed to assume too much initiative.
