[Shiba Naomi]

"..."
Now, now, don't panic... Breathe...

"Err... I... can imagine that is fun, for some people, yes..." Oh dear... and here I thought she was better than Hida Musasha.

"I wouldn't downplay you're potential so much, though. You got so far as to be accepted on board here, right?" Turning the conversation back to more pleasant topics. Hopefully.

[Yasuki Himiko]

She nods, a feral grin on her face. "Hey, if you've gotta do a duty, might as well find a way to make it enjoyable." She shrugged at the mention of her potential. "Potential only means so much. The needs of the Wall trump everything else."

[Shiba Naomi]

"Humm... then, if you are needed at the Wall, may I ask why you decided to apply for the Legion?" Naomi asked cautiously.

[Yasuki Himiko]

She shrugged lightly. "Wasn't my decision. I just go where I'm told. Boss tells me to fight on the wall, I fight on the Wall. Boss tells me to get on a kobune and join the legion, I get on a kobune and join the legion."

[Shiba Naomi]

"Ah, I see." Not everyone had done like she had, after all.

"What sort of duty do you wager you'd be assigned to then, as this is your first time on a boat?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

She shrugged a bit. "I'd guess the rigging, but I haven't put a terribly large amount of thought into it, honestly."

[Isawa Junpei]

Over the water, a moonlit figure skimmed a hand through the waves. Flying with as much effort as some walked, Junpei pivoted upwards, slowly ascending into the nighttime sky. Soaring high over the masts and through the rigging, he dove back down to the water near the foredeck, a stream of sudden movement with barely a hint of his passing but a rustle of the wind through his robes.

[Yasuki Himiko]

The knee-jerk reaction from Himiko was to drop into a jiujutsu stance and prepare for a potential threat. It was then met with confusion when she saw that the flying thing was some form of Samurai. "He's... flying?" Her gaze turned to her Shiba companion again. "Since when could Samurai fly?" Does this mean.... I... can fly? The woman was tempted for a brief moment to try, tempered only by the fact that she had a kiseru in her hand and if she was wrong, the tobacco inside would be ruined.

[Shiba Naomi]

"Ah!" Naomi was startled at first, until she recognized the form as one of the crewman. And that he at least seemed to be somewhat in control of what he was doing. "Do be careful there!"
Oh, he hasn't done anything about those blasted robes yet?!

"...Ano... it must be the kami keeping him aloft so..." she explained to Himiko, but her attention was fixed on the Isawa. With a rather worried expression.

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Oh..." there was a sound of disappointment in her voice, as if she was hoping Naomi was going to tell her that Samurai were gifted flight by the Air Dragon recently. "HEY YOU!" She shouted in the direction of the Isawa, using the loudest voice her frame could muster.

[Isawa Junpei]

Already a good 40 feet out, he whirled in the air, to orient himself in a "standing" position and turned to face the call. Approaching, he floated off the water's surface and up to the railing. Of course with the steady rocking of the boat, Junpei stayed in one place while the two women bobbed, ever so slightly, up and down. "Hai?" he said politely.

[Shiba Naomi]

Naomi breathed a sigh of relief as the Isawa returned to the boat.
"Isawa-sama, you shouldn't fly off like that at night. If anything happened, it would be difficult to help you in the darkness of the night." Her voice was like that of a reprimanding mother rather than a fellow crew-mate.

[Isawa Junpei]

"And what are you expecting to go wrong?" Junpei gave a faint smirk, "That I will be skimming the water when some monstrosity of the deep snatches me out of the air like an incautious seagull, or that the spirits might drop me in their antics straight into the ocean, or that I'll find myself beset by pirates? Amazingly enough Shiba-san, I can handle myself. Besides, I don't have the benefit of a yojimbo here even if I couldn't." Though the words might have been sardonic, something in the young man's demeanor gave them a kind of gentle levity. Not so much as to make them a joke, but enough to affect a nonchalant air.

[Shiba Naomi]

"It's difficult to know what creatures might lurk in Suitengu's realm..." Sharks, giant squids, swordfish, tentacle monsters...? She smiled a little. At least he wasn't being uppity about a worried Shiba.

Why must I be the only follower of Shiba's way here... sigh. It's almost as if I suspect they want me to watch them all.

"No need to tempt fate."

[Isawa Junpei]

"I'm fairly certain being on board already does that for me. Besides, I refuse to cower away from the beauty of the open ocean bathed in the glow of the Obsidian Moon. I swear to you there are no pirates for miles, trust me, I checked." He turned his head to look over his shoulders and out onto the empty seas. "And I assure you, the kami will never drop me. I have skills that would mystify even you, Shiba-san." It could have been called arrogance, but it was done in such a playful tone.

[Shiba Naomi]

Another silent sigh. He seemed right now, at least.
And he did seem to be that kind of an Isawa. Well, not the horribly arrogant one, at least...

"If you say so, Isawa-sama..."

[Isawa Junpei]

With an effortless grace, Junpei rose over the railing and onto the deck, or at least as close as he was willing to get, which amounted to him still a few handspans above the wooden boards. "Isawa Junpei, tensai of the kaze-kami, and you are, Shiba-san? Yasuki-san?"

[Shiba Naomi]

"Shiba Naomi, from Shiawasena Ningyo no Minato*." She gave a slight bow of her head, and gave the Yasuki her chance to introduce herself (so we don't run away from her ^_~).

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Yasuki Himiko. And... Uhm... Isawa-san..." She looked sheepish for just a moment, before speaking up with, "can you make me fly, too?"

[Isawa Junpei]

Junpei gave a mock frown, "Sadly, I cannot Yasuki-san. As much as I'd like to share the joy with you, this talent is mine alone. It's something of a long story." His gentle smirk returned, hoping the news would have the Crab too put out. The thought then gave him pause...a Crab...wanting to fly...how odd. He drifted off into his own thoughts for a moment, not that it showed on his face.
