(Day 7 Early Afternoon) Ugh Dirty Gaijin Magic!

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Even I've had 'em, and I'm practically a warmonger by Phoenix standards." O-washi chuckled a bit. "Poor fellows were driven to distraction by my utter unwillingness to stay where they put me."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"It's not unheard among the Iuchi, but it is definitely nothing common. I guess my kin is... erm.. trained to bash people themselves, if needed." the Unicorn admitted bashfully.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan managed to refrain from yet another 'How uncivilised' comment, instead smiling at the images of what Kari would have been like if he had tried to 'bash' anyone.

"Even in the thickest of fighting against the northern gaijin filth, Kari-san was quite indignant if I even took one step too many closer to them. She always used to say she wished for a shugenja who would actually listen to her advice and act on it, rather than just listen."

A rueful smile.

"I always thought that was a little harsh. I did stay out of the melees and there is a limit on my reach with the kami's fury."

[Isawa O-Washi]

It's the duty of the Shiba to be harsh, and given it's their honor resting on the acts of someone else I can't begrudge them, even if they do impede my actions. Happily, the appointment to the Legion has made the subject moot." O-washi grinned, then sighed. "If and when I return home to marry and teach, though, no doubt they'll be posting a Shiba to me again...a shame, really."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan nodded.

"I've already been told to expect another Shiba shadow when my appointment here ends and I think if she'd had enough leverage to do so, kari-san would have gotten herself assigned to the Half Moon as well. As it is, I get to learn how to exist without the constant reminders and obvious protection."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"That'll be good for you, if you're set on a military life." O-washi wasn't smiling now. "It's a hard lesson and many don't survive it. If you do, it'll make you that much more valuable to the Clan."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

Xiao Hua just listened to the two men, wondering how he'd feel if he had to lug a minder with himself.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"At least I'm remembering to turn up for meals. That was one thing she was always nagging at me to do."

Almost a grin as he worked his way through his hair, the braid coming into being quite quickly now.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"That was one problem mine never had." The big man slapped his flat stomach in a friendly fashion. "I like to eat, it takes a lot of fuel to keep this much bulk active and my temper unsurly."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

There was a massive difference between O-Washi's abs of steel and Qian-Fan's slender effeminate build to give truth to the gunso's words.

"And I would say you still don't eat as much as Hida-san would if he could."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Of ship's rations? No. Of something I actually enjoy, however? You'd be surprised." O-washi grinned. "Get me in front of a well-crisped duck breast in plum sauce and I dare say I'd out-trench even our esteemed Ram."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan tried to imagine that and failed somewhat.

"I always feel that my rations are in danger when Hida-san is around. He finishes his so quickly and often looks hungrily at ours."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Hmmph. I should probably take him in hand, then. I can get the kami to provide a bit more than the daily if he's willing to do a bit of extra work." The gunso grinned. "Hungry, grumpy Hida aren't good for anyone, after all."
