[Day 6 – Afternoon, Jade Sun] Bayushi Maiden Hair (Open)

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"Oh, Toritaka-san?" Hoshi brought up the familiar name when the topic was turned to him. "From the way I've seen how he conducts himself here, in many ways, he still thinks this is a court than a legion on duty. Still, he seems to be more accepting to working here than lazing about in luxury, there's something that should be noted about his enthusiasm..."

Hoshi refilled her cousin's cup. "Agasha-san's reaction is almost...expected. However, when a Lion takes interest to something gaijin, it must be very worthwhile to his attention ne?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi nods.

"I would assume so, but it was in the native tongue, so perhaps he already has an interest in these lands atypical of a Lion?" Nobuyoshi offers.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Uhm... Hoshi tilted her head slightly upon hearing that, pretty sure that wasn't something Nobuyoshi misspoke. "So I see...Maybe the Lion have decided to expand their horizons in recent years. There are more than a few sections in Leadership that likely speak of preparedness...At best, we can say Akodo-san went beyond his Clan's traditional comforts with that tenant?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shrugs.

"At the very least, if you decide you want to be sociable with him, it gives you a jumping off point for conversation." Nobuyoshi offers.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"You've given me a few reasons, thank you Nobuyoshi-san. I already had it in my mind to approach him eventually. Usagi-san made mention that he was one there in person to the enemy ship for himself when it was pointed out by our guest. I take it that he might have already made mention of it to you?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi nods.

"Hai, that was the motivation behind his research, trying to learn more about the ship by it's markings." Nobuyoshi offers. Not really wanting to simply be an information pump for his cousin, Nobuyoshi looks to change the subject.

"Have you spoken a great deal with Usagi-san? he asks.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"That explains that." Hoshi said in closing on the topic of the Akodo. "I wouldn't it call it a great deal, but he is one of the few people on the ship who've tolerated my presence or it was just a matter of chance."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

A small smile behind the mask.

"Tolerated your presence Hoshi-san? I've certainly always found conversation with you interesting. A pity that some would avoid you because of what might happen."

Nobuyoshi shrugs.

"But Scorpions, I suppose, who knows what we're capable of?" Nobuyoshi offers in his normal flat tone of voice.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi flicked a quick glance at Nobuyoshi. "And I thought we haven't spoken enough, thank you. It was just a small joke. As for tolerance, they don't go out of way to avoid me. That I know at least. Not being the centre of attention is sometimes best, that is for courtiers."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi pauses a moment, mulling over the other Scorpion's words, wondering if she's being sincere or Sincere in her words.

"And Kichirou-san, he's quite adept at being charming in red and black, without being trained as a courtier." Nobuyoshi offers. "But a true Scorpion is certainly flexible on what they can do."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"Kichirou-san certainly shows it well, it's a pity that they keep him below deck by himself. He must have spent his time there saving his chatter." Hoshi let out a small breath. "That's very true about a Scorpion. Perhaps the time I've squandered not knowing how to socialize is slowly catching up to me."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi nods.

"I'd wondered a bit about the duty roster myself. They certainly split the Scorpions up, and I was placed directly under Moshi-gunso's supervision." Nobuyoshi offers. "Not that'd I'd ever question how command decides to allot us, but I would be interested in knowing all the whys and hows."

"How was your time with those on your duty station before we came to port, Hoshi-san?" Nobuyoshi asks, curious.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

After her facetious moment, Hoshi took it upon herself to refill both cups at the table and take a few sips from her drinking reed. "It could be a matter of coincidence, I don't think she was a particular fan of whatever antics she believed she saw from either you or Kichirou-san. Or maybe it could very well mean that she trust you most out of all of us. However...my shift has a pairing of Lions, both Ikoma-san and Akodo-san, who are both quiet in their duties. Something I don't expect even from the most rigid of Lions. Yoritomo-san, is...entertaining." She said without the meaning. "I haven't had the pleasure of speaking with Agasha-san in person just yet. Such an occasion may be rarer now. I'd say my time was pleasant really."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi nods.

"Ah yes, Yoritomo-san. I wonder if he has close family within the Tsuruchi family? Samurai can hold grudges for such a long time, a century is nothing compared to it. Nobuyoshi ponders.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"A Mantis doesn't not need to be Tsuruchi to hold a grudge with the Scorpion Nobuyoshi-san. Nor are Yoritomo particularly picky with their colours on who they can hold grudges with either. I take it that you've spoken to him in some length?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shrugs.

"Enough to think he's as sympathetic to Scorpion as Kakita-san is." Nobuyoshi offers off-handedly.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"I'm not surprised, it may explain something. He has a reason then." Hoshi said simply.

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shrugs.

"It's a starting point of understanding at least." Nobuyoshi offers. Having had more than enough tea, Nobuyoshi starts to make the preparations to leave.

"Thank you for the tea and conversation Hoshi-san." Nobuyoshi says. "We'll have to have more of both during our service together."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"Let's hope so." Came as a simple reply before she bowed politely to the parting Nobuyoshi. "Thank you for joining me Noboyoshi-san, carry the Fortunes."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi bows to Hoshi.

"Carry the Fortunes, Hoshi-san." he returns.

And then it's time for....
