(Day 7 Early Afternoon) Ugh Dirty Gaijin Magic!

[Isawa O-Washi]

"What, and give up that sort of power? Not bloody likely."

The gunso grinned and resumed washing, working his way up his legs now. "He got thumped for it good and proper once we hit port, mind you, but he told me while I was setting his arm that it was worth it."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"How uncivilised."

He said, while naked, in luke warm water, in a small tub, on a ship, in the middle of a gaijin harbour.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Now, Agasha-san..." O-washi's tone was chiding. "That's a dreadful thing to say about your kin. It was a Phoenix ship."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"he survived with mere corporal punishment?" Xiao Hua was surprised, but tried to hide the fact as well as he could. Clearly the nave worked in a way that was alien to him.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"And what else could the others do besides? Challenge him because he'd insulted their bellies? That is hardly the way of the Phoenix. No, enough of a beating to show their anger but no more. All healed in a week with the kami's help and the whole crew, myself included, went back out again together as close a crew as ever not a month later."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Well he'd had a very sheltered upbringing, so Qian-Fan was quite shocked by such behaviour.

"There must be better ways to sort out such matters without resorting to violence?"

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Simple, temporary violence is the best way." O-washi disagreed. "Fighting bleeds off the anger, lances any resentment as healers must sometimes lance wounds gone sour."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"Hardly a method to utilise in the libraries back home though."

He shook his head lightly, still not happy at the casual condonence of violence. Water droplets span away from his still wet hair.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Well, Scholar, we're not librarians just now. We're soldiers." O-washi was no longer grinning, giving his Clanmate a very solemn look instead. "You'll find many of the things that real soldiers do are not in any book. It isn't pretty, but it keeps a unit strong enough to do the great deeds they can write stories about."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-fan took the mild rebuke silently, deciding it was time he was out of the water anyway. Doing his best to dry himself, he cast his eyes around looking for something.

"Errr, Isawa-sama, where did you put my clothes?"

[Isawa O-Washi]

'Oh, right."

Chuckling, the gunso gave up on his washing, which was very nearly done regardless, and moved toward one of the makeshift walls of crates that provided a modicum of privacy. Reaching up to his fullest extent, the big man pulled down the fabric and handed it over.

"It'll be a bit dusty but a few shakds should help that."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

At least it was his shipboard clothes and not one of his kimono. He gave the hakama and shirt a quick shake, looking quite surprised at the amount of dust that did come off them. One sneezing fit later he was about ready to get dressed.

[Isawa O-Washi]

Chuckling, the big man went back to the tub and set about washing his hair.

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"Make sure he was in no position to end up as cook again?" Iuchi chuckled. "For crimes against the morale of the crew."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan dressed and then sat to begin the lengthy process of putting his hair back into it's shipboard braid.

[Rixy]

"They did make sure to bring two heimen out who could cook after that." O-washi's reply was a bit off meter, given he was trying not to get soap in his eyes or his mouth. "Never had the same problem again as far as I know...I left the ship when I was transferred inland as an adviser for a time."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"Sounds like a smart idea. Does this ship have two cooks as well?" he asked, concerned, lifting a bucket to rinse his long hair. Which was a mess. Military life didn't allow much time for grooming, after all.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"I think we have several, Iuchi-sama. Usagi Zenko-san, Shiba Naomi-san for sure. I have heard rumours that one of the Yoritomo can and I have basic training myself."

He gave an apologetic smile.

"My former yojimbo decided I should know at least the basics if I was going to be so absorbed in my work to miss regular meals."

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

"I knew that Naomi-san could cook." he nodded to the Agasha. "But between you three, we should have enough cooks then, even in a worst case scenario." Reaching to a towel he had brought, the Iuchi began to dry himself, starting from his hair.

"Hee, Agasha-san had a yojimbo?" Xiao Hua asked him, curious. He had never had one of his own. Not hat he had ever felt a need for one.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"The Shiba take their oaths seriously, Iuchi-sama. I doubt I would have been allowed anywhere near the battle at Toshi Ranbo or the war against the northern barbarians without one."

He continued working on his braid, suddenly thinking this would be probably something else that Kari would have tutted at him and taken out of his hands.
