[Day 7, Late Afternoon] All in Readiness

[Jayant Utpal]

"I'll take what I can get." Jayant shrugs. "I hope some of your... shugenja," Jayant takes his time with the word, as though it is new to him and he wants to make certain he gets it correct "will be joining the assault."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"They will." O-washi smiled fiercely. "Moshi-sama is very unlikely to miss the chance to rain down destruction at the very least."

[Jayant Utpal]

"Moshi... That is the woman? The second to the captain?" Jayant paused. "She... err... does not seem much like other brah-shugenja."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"I do not know how it is with your priests, Jayant-san, but we of Rokugan tend to focus on one aspect of the world's making more than others. In our philosophy, that means earth, fire, water, or air...void is the last element, but it's taming is a rare gift. Anyway, many of us, through years of communion with one particular element, grow to share it's traits." The large man grinned. "For Moshi-sama, who bonds strongly with fire, it has lead to a fierce and fiery personality and a worse temper, as well as a certain delight in the destruction of her foes."

[Toritaka Punchiru]

Punchiru displays the wares as best he can to the man without interrupting the conversation until a question arises in his mind.

"Isawa-sama, is there a plan to retrieve those who might be lost at sea after the battle?"

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Lost at sea?"

O-washi's brows rose.

"If one of ours is so weak a swimmer to not be able to reach dock from a ship moored off of it, well then, I dare say they're in the wrong Legion."

[Toritaka Punchiru]

"It is true, I was worried for those wounded or even unconcious."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Their brothers in arms should save them. If I find any man or woman saved their own skin and left another behind when they could have aided them..."

A baleful darkness came into the gunso's voice and the scent of saltwater began to rise from his skin.

"They'll wish they'd not survived by the time I'm done with them."

[Toritaka Punchiru]

Oh Kami, the spirits are with him. I hope his ancestors don't smite me like Grandfather always did.

"I see such things are well in hand."

Jayant nodded at the giant Isawa's words. Ship crews were a close bunch, and the man who willingly let another crew member die, or worse, drove them to death, could quickly find himself ostracized. Some things, it seemed, were universal.
