"It is. A large force comprised of Phoenix, Crab, Lion, Scorpion, Dragon,and the Shogun's forces managed to kill their leader and the majority of the yobajin forces on the Dragon Heart Plain before they could reach the capital. Nobuyoshi offers. "From what I heard, there were still stragglers loose in the northern lands, but the war proper seems to be over."

"At least they're gone," she murmurs with a small frown of worry. Suriya, meanwhile, bows to the Mantis and moves quietly into the kitchen to place the orders with her father.

"Not much, to be honest. Took a quick bath, slept, walked a little around. Got hungry." the man shrugged.

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

"At least they're gone," she murmurs with a small frown of worry. Suriya, meanwhile, bows to the Mantis and moves quietly into the kitchen to place the orders with her father.

"The damage to the northern parts of the Empire is pretty severe, I've heard." Nobuyoshi offers. "At least they were stopped before they could reach the capital."

All three shudder at the idea, the woman making a sign of warding, "Bless Bishammon for our victories." A silence fell over the table, interrupted by the quiet question of the foreigner. The Tsuruchi turns and replies with candor and the merchant blanches, fingers flicking out in a ward against evil.

Keiko shakes her head, as if shaking dark thoughts from her mind and forces a smile, "You said you wanted news as well...?"

Suriya returns from the kitchen, setting a pot of jasmine tea in front of Choukichi along with a bowl of miso. She bows and retreats, setting the same thing infront of the Bayushi before unobtrusively retiring towards the kitchen.

Nobuyoshi nods.

"Unsurprisingly, this is my first time in the Ivory Kingdoms. When one enters a new village it's wise to see what's going on, I can't imagine such wisdom is much changed when visiting an entirely different land." Nobuyoshi agrees, nonchalantly.

Choukichi nods his head in thanks for the tea and food then turns baco to his companion.

"Any plans to see much more, or sticking mostly near the embassy?"

Nobuyoshi nods.

"Unsurprisingly, this is my first time in the Ivory Kingdoms. When one enters a new village it's wise to see what's going on, I can't imagine such wisdom is much changed when visiting an entirely different land." Nobuyoshi agrees, nonchalantly.

"Well, there's been a lot of refugees from all over the Kingdom and rumors of war," she replies and knocks on wood, "Some say that House Rafiq is in ascendence once more and that has a lot of folk worried. So far there's enough food in the city from harvests, but folks don't know how long that will last... it's been tense and there was already one riot this past winter."

Nobuyoshi nods.

"A riot you say. Hopefully that was not too difficult for the embassy to weather. Or were the rioters focused on their own leadership?" Nobuyoshi replies, keeping his voice to it's normal low tones, loudly openly discussing riots was not generally welcome.

Choukichi nods his head in thanks for the tea and food then turns baco to his companion.

"Any plans to see much more, or sticking mostly near the embassy?"

"I'll head out at some point, sure." he nodded. "One doesn't get a chance like this that often, after all."
