[Day 5, Early Afternoon] Running Around Like... - CLOSED

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

Uminushi waits until his companion was inside before closing the door after him. He was soaked through, shivering, and muttering curses beneath his breath. "Bayushi's balls... this weather is not natural."

He chaffs his arms and moves to one of the cabinets, fishing out a towel and tossing it to the Phoenix before grabbing one for himself. Unselfconciously the man peels out of his shirt and tosses it in a heap off to the side and NOT on the rug.

"I hope O-washi-san brings something hot at least..."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Another set of silk robes wet through. Well at least this time it was rain water and not sea water. He now wished he'd worn the haori that was safely tucked in his seachest down below. He used the towel to dry his hair as best he could. The kimono could wait until later though.

"It is most definitely unnatural. Just what my misguided cousin has done to precipitate this I dare not dwell upon for long."

[Isawa O-Washi]

Footfalls sounded outside the door, a brief tap, and then the Isawa stepped inside. He had dressed for the weather, if you could call it 'dressed', by wearing as little as possible. He had on a jingasa and rather tight shorts, the lower half of a casual summer jinbei. He carried a small keg under one arm and had a tray with a small stoneware pot and an assortment of cups in the other.

He also was sending off the scent of seawater in waves strong enough to fill his Captain's cabin and his eyes blazed brightly enough to put off light of their own, swirling blue pools not unlike a maelstrom.

Bowing to the two men, O-washi banged down the tray down on the nearest flat surface, pulled the cork out of the barrel, and poured a full measure of potent-smelling gold shouchu into three cups. When he spoke, it was in a low rumble of carefully controlled rage."Drink this first, Captain. You'll need it."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

The man riffles through his 'closet' and tosses a yukata towards Qian-Fan even as he continues to strip. By the time O-washi entered, he had the towel wrapped around his waist. Uminushi looks up at the thunk of the tray on the bench, brows rising. The Mantis had about as much shame as his gunso as he saunters over.

He takes one whiff of the shochu and frowns, "That bad eh...?"

[Isawa O-Washi]

"If I had any of that Clan War vintage left, I'd have brought it instead. Fortunes', if there was any that went back to the sodding FALL, that would probably be suitable."

Taking his own pour, he knocked it back and then coughed. "Forgot how much of a bit it has..."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

He missed catching the yutaka and it draped over his face for a moment before he pulled it away, the sleeves framing the sight of two half naked men in front of him. This wasn't exactly the baths and he looked away instantly trying to remember the gravity of the situation and not blush. Still wet clothes were unpleasant and he could hardly refuse the captain's hospitality. He placed the yutaka beside him and began to undress . . . facing away from the other two.

[Isawa O-Washi]

Observing that, O-washi snorted. "What's the matter, Scholar? Ashamed of the cut of your jib?" Pouring himself more to drink, he added helpfully, "You can always blame it on the cold, worst comes to worst."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

The Phoenix went bright red. Not just cheeks, but it spread to his shoulders as well as his kimono slid to the floor.

"Isawa-sama! . . . . "

. . . and he couldn't think of anything to say at that point, drying himself with the towel before scrambling into the yukata. He didn't exactly rush, but neither did he take his time.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"What?" O-washi's ire eased a little in the familiar pattern of teasing one's shipmates. "I was only trying to help..."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

Humors flickers across Uminiushi's face as he ships the shochu, "I can assure you O-washi-san's ... consistent in that regard."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Belting the yukata as he continued to blush furiously, Qian-Fan kept his eyes down still not managing to find any words in retort.

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Alright, let's stop delaying," the Mantis murmurs as he drops on to the bench, absently patting the tanuki statue on the head. "Give me the problem and we'll see if we can't come up with a solution between the three of us..."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Right."

All teasing left the big man at once.

"Junpei, apparently, tried to use the kami to Name some sort of local demon or similar, despite their reaction yesterday which should have warned him to use more mundane methods first." O-washi's fists balled and he forced himself to relax before going on. "It drew the attention of this demon, whatever it is, and corrupted the kami he'd been talking to and started a whole shitstorm in the area. When the guards attacked him for what they perceived as an attack, he flew here. I ordered him below in case a mob comes looking and set Mouse to watching to make sure he doesn't so much as think of casting."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"... did he explain why he was searching for the demon's name?" Uminushis asks, looking more than a bit confused as he knocks wood to ward away ill-luck.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"No. He was rather...distraught." O-washi's tone carried absolutely no sympathy for his cousin's plight. "Perhaps he thought knowing would have a use, you would have to ask him."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"He corrupted kami?"

Qian-Fan looked aghast.

"I . . . I called on the mizu-kami at the palace . . . "

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

The cup was emptied as blue eyes turn to the Agasha. He looks at the Phoenix and arches a brow in question, "... and?"

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"As there had been no sign of a storm when we entered the palace, I asked the mizu kami on exiting the throne room as to what had caused the storm. They showed me Junpei-san casting a spell from a scroll after climbing some stairs. He then collapsed."

Qian-Fan's eyes showed his concern.

"I felt no corruption of the kami I consulted. They were reluctant to show me as much as they did, so I chose to let the prayer lapse rather than push them any further."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

Uminushi leans back in his seat, staring up at the ceiling as he thought. "Well... the Maharaja or, at least, his council isn't going to like this and hold it over our heads. Gentleman, let us make conjectures on what will occur... pretend for a moment, that his occurred in Phoenix lands and that Junpei-san was mmm of another Clan and he was hiding in said Clan's embassy?"

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"The Inquisitors would deal with him and sort out the political fall out afterwards. They would not allow any chance for the corruption to grow."

He paled as he said it, realising how abrupt it sounded.
