Cleasening the Soul (Day 5 Early Evening Open)

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito stepped into the baths as the sun set on the horizon the storm spent he felt a hankering to be clean. There had been something not quite right about that storm the unnatural fury of it reminding him somewhat of his passage through the sea of shadows and he felt the need to get it off his skin. After a good hard scrubbing that likely left his skin looking a little red he stepped into the baths and sank onto a bench trying to put the thoughts from his mind.

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

Only a short while after Kaito enters the bath, Choukichi enters the room as well and after a short stop to scrub his body, he joins him in the bath, offering a polite nod as he sits down.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito eye's opened at the sound of another entering the baths and glancing over he notices his cousin. "Good evening Cousin." He replied some how not surprised to see the man.

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

Choukichi offers him a smile, then closes his own eyes and relaxes.

"Good evening Cousin, how has your time in the city been going?"

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito hesitated a moment before speaking. "Good before today Cousin, after that storm we had earlier, I'm thinking it might be best we leave port on the morrow. There was something not right about it all."

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

"Hai, a storm like that so soon after our arrival... Seems like a terrible omen to me."

Eyes still closed, he makes a warding gesture and utters a short quiet prayer.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Indeed Cousin but I don't think ya fully get my meaning. I've always had a bit of a gift a feel for the weather that's coming and that weather wasn't what we were supposed to be having today. Reminded me a bit of the Sea of Shadows in that sense if that makes sense."

"Added to that Cousin I felt that storm in a way I've seldom felt weather before it surprised me... it was like something wasn't right." He repressed a shudder. "And as dark as the sky turned I can't help but thinking its a portent of some terrible fate."

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

"I know what you mean, I just hate to think of that place... Perhaps the enemy is closer than expected, if the enemy army does posess demons, then it could conceivably bring a storm like that with it..?"

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Maybe I'm no shujenga though, might be best to ask one of them about it. Though asking a crab might be a good idea too." He paused in thought a few moments before continuing. "Either way I bought some liquor today thought I might make a offering of it to Suitengu on the morrow. Capn Saotoshi always said liquor was the best offering to give Suitengu in troubled waters."

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

Choukichi nods his head in approval.

"I am sure he will appreciate the offering, and when things get serious here we will need his blessing."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"True enough Cousin." Replied Kaito shifting slightly in the bath water. "Do you think I should make a offering to Isora-no-kami as well while I am at it?"

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

Clean from the women's baths and somewhat tired at the days event, I collected my towel and headed in to the relaxing soaking area. I'd counted to 100 in the hotter water. It was now time for a chance to just lay back in warm water. Yesterday I'd managed to visit when everyone else was occupied and it had been enjoyable but very quiet. Today I could hear some talk from within. Male voices admittedly but I was not too bothered. I'd spent the day in a gaijin holding cell so just being able to be in an environment that appeared Rokugani was pleasant enough.

Keeping my towel tight to my body and aware of my modesty I enter, spot the two men and give them a nod "good evening" before easing into the water a little distance away. The towel becomes wet in the water but it does its job. I give the men a discrete glance to see if I can figure some things out about them

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito's eyes flashed to the woman as she entered the communal pools his eyes lingering perhaps a moment longer then was proper before turning away and answering her greeting with a rather proper. "Good Evening to you as well." His voiced still mildly laced with the tension he had felt earlier.

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

"Mirumoto Tomoe" I said simply. "Now with the Half Moon. Hohei. Are you here with the fleet too or are you embassy staff?"

I sunk further into the water until it was up to my shoulders. Ooooo it feels good

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito's eyes flicked over to the woman again as she introduced herself. She was pretty for someone who probably spent half their lives sitting on a mountain meditating too bad she was likely a prude. Pushing the thoughts of teh days events from his mind he reached up a hand to scratch at the days worth of stubble on his chin. "I'm Yoritomo Kaito and this is my cousin Yoritomo Choukichi. We're both from the half moon nice to meet ya at last Mirumoto-san."

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

I should have thought of that possibility! I stand up from the water and do my best to bow formally to both men while trying to keep the towel on me. I probably end up looking ridiculous. "A-a-a pleasure to meet you both! Yoritomo Kaito-sama. Yoritomo Choukichi-sama. I did not realise. Please forgive me". I bow once more before splashing back into the water, feeling a little stupid. I give Choukichi another glance, remembering him from earlier. I had thought he was an embassy guard. "Y-you know of me?" I ask to Kaito, realising exactly what he said. How did he know me?

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito's eyes bulged slightly as the woman stood to bow in the baths in nothing but a wet towel. Was this some sort of invitation to ogle the dragon? Blinking once Kaito glanced into the water in a effort to put completely different thoughts out of his mind. "Can't say I know of you exactly Mirumoto-san just heard something of getting a few new sailors on board. Ship's are a small place and word of such tends to pass fairly quickly can't say I was exactly expectin it though."

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

When Tomoe enters the pool, Choukichi opens eyes to see who it is and offers a polite nod, but is polite enough not to stare. Unclothed, the charms, wards and prayers tatooed onto his entire body below his neck are easy to make out, a closer inspection reveals a scattering of small scars, but the tatoos mostly cover them up.

"A pleasure to meet you as well Mirumoto-san."

When she stands and bows, Choukichi averts his gaze so as to be not outright staring, but definately gets an eyeful. He chuckles a bit at her behavior and echoes his cousins words.

"Just heard we were getting a few new sailors, I pegged you for a new crewmate when we were at the embassy and those guards came barging in."

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

"I see" I say, smiling just a little bit "I suppose word does spread fast. I look forward to sailing with you both". I hold onto the towel with my right hand, brushing some hair back with my left. I can feel my hair spreading out into the water. It will take some time to dry it later. I divert my eyes away from the two men as I try to make conversation with them. "What is the ship like?" I pause before adding "and it's officers?"

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

"Big, I rather like it, the crew is friendly, and Isawa O-Washi-gunso seems like a good officer, easy man to speak to. Moshi Kaimenko-gunso is..."

Choukichi trails off as he tries to think of a polite word to use to describe her, and failing that waves a hand at Kaito, passing the responsibility of doing so to him.
