[Day 4, Mid-afternoon, Baths] Ladies' bath

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Sounds interesting," Himiko said. "So on a scale of mouse to Oni, how big would ye say this thing is?"

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi looked quizzical. "I've never seen an oni before...-ah, but...it saw one that was ten feet tall on my way here."

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Huh. So like a small oni." The proverbial gears in Himiko's head appeared to be turning. "Damn... just a couple of feet too big to try grappling with."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"...Have you tried grappling animals before Yasuki-san?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Oh, you know. Wolves, bigger cats, bog hags. Still waitin' fer the chance te try my hand at a tentacle monster," she mentioned with a grin.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Oddly enough, there are people who will pay to see that... Hoshi gave the Shiba a glance. "And it has to be one with tentacles in particular. Is this a sport in the Crab lands?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Nah. But Hida Musasha-san mentioned that they exist, and now I'm determined to rip on out of the ocean. Just my little way in helpin' wit' the fight against the ninth's minions, ye know?"

[Bayushi Hoshi]

The imagery of Himiko waiting in anticipation by the side of the ship for that chance to happen upon such a creature, ready to catch it with her bare hands, briefly appeared in her mind's eye. It didn't seem any less ridiculous even if it wasn't how she was going to go about it...Right? "-Ah. So I see...You might have missed your chance in the previous seas but in the mean time, everything from the ninth will be good practice ne? I wish you luck."

Tentacle monsters?

"I think I've heard of this creature you mention, Bayushi-san... hum... I don't remember the word for it, though. Eref..." she sighed. "Hm, it's at the tip of my tongue."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"...Eref?" Hoshi repeated the name without any bells ringing in her head, she gave a shake of her head to show that she was still lost on the name. "-Ah, gomen. It's still fuzzy. Would either of you know the language here? It almost sounds like something of that tongue."

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Not a lick of it," Himiko admitted calmly.

[Shiba Naomi]

"I don't know it. Sorry. My older brother learned the language of the Yobanjin while he was stationed at Kyuden Isawa, but that's the most exotic we know in our family."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"-Ah. Neither do I. I've recently discovered that more than a few in the crew know of the language and was wondering if I missed out a hobby. The foreign tongues here are best left the Mantis that way, it's not elegant in the least bit." She smiled faintly again. "There are some interesting things here though...If you're a fan of spicy food, they don't have a shortage of it here."
