[Day 4, Late Afternoon, Garden] Wisdom of the Kami

Another flash of Kyuden Isawa, silhouetted in a red-orange corona as the Army of Fire marched to consume it, came to the Isawa's mind and nearly broke his concentration.Fire...not here too. "W-Where did this fire come from?" Restraining his own emotions, he once again tried to keep the conversation light, as though inquiring about something as simple as the weather.

... attempting to keep one's emotions from the kaze-kami was like trying to win a duel against a Kakita with a feather; unlikely to work and why would you do that? They instantaneously pick up on the change in his mood and start to jitter and flutter nervously. Some try to pat him reassuringly as that single kami answers.

From voices and throats.

The reply did nothing to better his own mood, "Barbarian witchery?

Not like you.

It chirps as the others flit away and back to the tensai.

"Who is it that does such things?" Junpei hardened his will. Evil was afoot and he would not have himself succumb to it.

Suddenly, the scent of fresh blood, old blood and offal is released in to the air as another kami answers with solemnity. Once more a brush of fear touches the tensai's mind.

His breath caught and he covered his mouth and nose. He didn't want to wave it away for fear of disturbing the kami, but the unclean odors were enough to make him drawback. Drawing his hand away, "I...I don't understand. Are you saying that it is...her?"

He did not want to press any further. His brothers had already been more helpful then he would have imagined, and wished to leave them with warm feelings and free-hearts. Taking in a deep breath and letting it out slowly he relaxed his mind and let his nervousness fade away, replaced by a feeling of affection and contentment as he focused on the moment. Lost in communion with the kami, he smiled, "Domo arigato gozaimashita. I've kept you from your fun for long enough. Enjoy the garden for as long as you wish, but I bid you safe journey as you continue your flights."

The kami swirl happily around the Phoenix, briefly creating ribbons of color in the air. They fly off one by one and the last can be heard (by him as least) singing to itself in a high childish voice.

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...

Letting out a sigh and opening his eyes, he realized suddenly that he had risen several feet off the ground. Standing he floated there, now mere inches from the grass. Folding his hands into his sleeves he ruminated upon what he'd been told. There was a great amount of information he'd been given and so, while still fresh in his mind he went through his communion piece by piece to garner hidden meanings, and strange phrasing.
