In the Garden of Heaven and Hell (Day 4, Afternoon)

[Hida Musasha]

He laughs, "Stick somethin' in yer ears."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"May just hafta," she chuckles, glancing toward a window and listening to the noises of the city. Shaking her head the Badger focuses back in on her meal, quickly cleaning her plate.

[Hida Musasha]

He looks at his cup, "How about some o' those other drinks with th' next plate? "What does th' grape stuff taste like?"

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"If I had to guess, I'd say grapes."

[elonweis]

"I dunna? Mum says I shouldn't drink yet 'cause I'm small," he frowns at that, taking personal insult at the idea of being called small.

[Hida Musasha]

He looks at the boy, "I was wee like you, once. It takes work ta grow big, and a lotta eatin' ta keep growin' ta real big. If ya wan' ta get real big, ya best eat like ya mean it, an' work like yer gonna die if ya don'."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"That's right," Yakusoku nods emphatically. "A lot of hard work goes into it. Ya don't get big an' ugly like ol' Musasha-san 'ere without a good deal a effort." The woman laughs at her own jest, grinning across the table at the Crab.

[elonweis]

"I work hard all the time," the boy declares before waving down their server. There's a quick conversation as the empty dishes are removed. She glances at the two samurai and nods once more before slipping away. It wasn't long before more dishes were brought out, including the asked for wine.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"This'll be the last bit for me," Yakusoku gestures to the food and drink. "Eat yer fill though Hida-san. I'm in no rush to leave."

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha smiles, "It takes time, too, lad." He nods at his partner, "I'll eat yer share o' the rest, as well as mine." He gives a quiet (for him) chuckle.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku pours herself one last drink and does keep a small bit of food to munch on, but passes the rest over to Musasha. "There ya are. Enjoy."

[Hida Musasha]

The big man grins ear to ear as he digs in. "Yer my idea of a perfect woman." He chuckles as he stuffs his face.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku laughs, shaking her head. "And yer alright Hida-san," she offers an over-accentuated shrug and lifts her drink to her mouth before she can be caught up in more laughter.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha pours an ocean of wine down his throat after eating something that made his eyes water. He coughs a few times, and with a sniffle, "now that was somethin' different."

Daisuke snickers, but otherwise seems to be enjoying himself. Meanwhile, the locals had quietly left in ones and twos. There wasn't a stampede or a rush to leave, they were even casual about it. It just seemed, almost suddenly, that the large common room was empty save for them and a few servers.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Hmm," Yakusoku looks up as the room thins out, glancing over at the servers, "this place closing up soon?"

[elonweis]

"Nnnooooo...."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku shrugs. Figured as much but she couldn't be absolutely sure. For all she knew the gaijin kept odd hours. Lifting her glass she sips at the grape-flavored drink just a bit more, shifting on her cushions and waiting patiently for the Crab to eat his fill. Probably just finished their meals and headed back to... whatever it is that they do.

[Hida Musasha]

The big man finishes a bite or two more, then looks about, "Hmm, yer right. This is a bit weird. Is there some kinda local custom ta na be indoors at this time?"

[elonweis]

Daisuke shakes his head and answers very, very quickly, "No. It's just... you're wearing armor and that means trouble and people don't want trouble but I didn't think you wanted to go back to the Embassy to take it off or give up your daisho so I gave them a small bribe so they'd look the other way."

The boy looks a bit worried as he sucks in his breath, looking from one to the other with large pleading eyes.
