[Bayushi Hoshi]

Behind the Black Elephant, a place of ill repute, was an even darker and dingier alley. Detritus and sewage lay strewn about in piles, some of it still twitching. Backed up to one of these piles, weapons in hand and shoulder to shoulder with someone that was, somehow, a friend. The woman, young, darkly-clad, and bearing a sword, was currently trying to beat off three men that were all fully armed with huge curved swords, yelling something in that liquid tongue so many locals spoke at the top of her lungs that needed no translator to interpret as cursing.

The salvation of her life, as well as Hoshi's own, was at the forefront of the Scorpion woman's rather hazy mind as it came back under her control.

Kuso... Was what Hoshi thought first thing about her situation.

Not wasting time with idling about, Hoshi narrowed her eyes with a stern look at their assailants. She gave her kusarigama a rapid whirl for momentum and launched the weight toward the quickest of the thugs.

The young woman, still cursing, lashed out at one of the other men, her blade slicing a furrow into his upper arm. His reposte was weak and just barely missed her as she danced out of the way. The other man, growling out what was probably a curse, left off battling the girl and turned his attentions to Hoshi, his great blade laying into her with brutal efficiency. {{37 damage}} The other man, wound tight in the Scorpion's chains, could do little more than cheer on his 'brother', sneering defiance at the one who held him.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"Ngh!" Hoshi bit her lower lip to save her the indignity of crying out in pain when the large blade cut into her (voided). She yanked down on the chains in her hands to keep her prey from struggling free and spun her kama around to sting the thug's shoulder. "Down!"

The girl, having spied Hoshi's dilemma, let out a louder string of curses (probably) than ever and pulled a dagger in her left hand, spinning into a small tornado of violence that left her opponent backing away, bleeding badly from a new wound across his chest and a rather nastier one perilously close to the big vein in his neck. The one who'd so badly maimed Hoshi, distracted, perhaps, by the change from 'harmless bit of sport' to 'dangerous opponents' badly mistimed his swing on the bleeding Scorpion, catching nothing but air with his next blow.

The man in Hoshi's grip, however, was galvanized by being wounded. Snarling, he worked his way free of the chains and rose, murder in his eyes.

Hoshi coolly dodged the second attempt from the bladed man and narrowed her eyes in return at the man who was glaring at her. Yanking back her chains too her, she whirled them forward after the pull, determine to keep him in his place.

[Rixy]

Her attempts, unfortunately, were hindered by blood loss. The girl, who was whooping in what was probably delight at having driven off the first man now turned to the one Hoshi'd entangled, taking advantage of his distraction to stick her dagger into him, twisting viciously. Hoshi's previous attacker, determined to finish what he had begun, lashed out with his great blade again, this time landing a more glancing blow to Hoshi's left arm. {{20 Damage}}

Hoshi winced in pain when she felt the sword cut into her and immediately aimed to control this match her favour. She didn't waste time whirling her chains in the air and catching her attacker in them, keeping him locked in this time.

Unfortunately, Hoshi's....friend? comrade?...didn't fare so well this time. Overconfident after her last few strikes, the girl attempted a fancy spin and ended up doing more damage to herself than her opponent, spinning wide and leaving the man an easy opening to her exposed back which he swiftly took, blood pouring out of a deep cut to the woman's back. Hoshi's own opponent managed to slip his bindings, cursing the Scorpion woman roundly as he did so.

Thankful she managed to distract him at least, she spun in her stance and boldly whipped the chains at the same attacker. While it hit...she barely had the strength to keep him there...

[Rixy]

The girl, enraged or so it seemed, turned on her attacker with a shriek of rage. Her sword buried deeply into his side and when the man moved again it was to move away down the alley as fast as he could move, wanting no more of this fight. The remaining man, however, was apparently sick and truly tired of being wrapped in a chain. Having easily escaped Hoshi's attempt this time, he lashed out with his blade, this time catching Hoshi a light gash across the belly. {14 damage}

Hoshi gave a short cry at the slice glanced at her belly but luckily it remained superficial (void). She would thank the Heavens later. Seeing her 'friend' was free, she would once again attempt the same annoying move with spinning chains on the last attacker. She worked better in an unfair fight.

[Rixy]

The girl, with another of those cries that was probably a curse, darted in with sword and dagger again. The man, now as bloody as his cohorts, decided he'd had enough and turned and fled, chased by the girl's whoops.

Cut in more than a few uncomfortable places, Hoshi hardly relaxed in her stance when the last man decided to turn heel and run. Naturally enemies were better off dead but she would be further gambling with her life against the odds. With ragged breaths, she did keep close to her mysterious saviour however, hoping to find some answers...

The girl, who seemed rather cheerful, turned out to be both young and very pretty, at least as far as gaijin went. Her olive skin was perfectly clear, cheeks flushed becomingly with the thrill of battle and smeared with a stripe of blood across one cheek. Rich brown eyes were large and well-placed in her skull over high delicate cheekbones. A single jewel, it's color impossible to make out, was pressed into her forehead and a delicate hoop dangled from her right nostril. She had been smiling, despite her wounds, but seeing how badly hurt Hoshi was her expression turned quickly to horror.

"Ah!Ladki, you bleed! Must go vidvaan, swift!" Though her words were thickly accented and translation was spotty at best, the young woman could make herself understood in Rokugani. "Come!"

With as much grace in motion as she'd showed with a blade, the girl began to skulk down the alley the opposite way the men had gone, glancing back and gesturing for Hoshi to follow..

Hoshi tried to recompose herself best she could but was greeted by the very strange fashion of the gaijin woman. All that blood and battle didn't help either. While it was good to hear that her companion was capable of speaking Rokugani, it barely did much good when the important words were missing. Saki? Bi-Ban? No that wasn't it... There was a perplexed look visible in her eyes before she walked right behind her, hoping she wouldn't be leading her to some harem slave trader, if they had those here.

"...Who were those men?" She brought up as she walked while keeping a cautious eye out.

Another thought came to mind. "...You could have made an easy escape while two of them were busy..."

[Rixy]

"Bandit." Slim shoulders shrugged beneath the girl's wrap. "And, no leave" The girl sounded somewhat insulted at the implication of turning tail and fleeing. "! You, I, shared, yes? Besides, strong. You, too, so vijay"

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Shared...what? "-Ah, hai. Of course." Hoshi murmured with little breath, feigning it being all clear to her. When her chains her managed into one arm, she place a hand to put pressure on the cut on her arm. She dipped in a slight bow. "Thank you for that. I'm glad to have your help."
