[Day 4 - Mid-Morning - Baths] I Get to Be Clean! Open

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Baths, baths were good and despite being in the ocean twice two days before and rained on just yesterday Kaito was thinking a proper bath was somewhat in order. After all lady folk tended to like it when ya actually bathed and their might even be some lady folk and some privacy to be had here.

Seeing the baths already occupied he nodded politely before shedding his towel and stepping into the water.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"Ey Scholar," Yakusoku greets the Phoenix with a quick raise of her hand. "Ever think ya'd be sayin' that in a Gaijin city?" she had to smirk a bit at the irony. Pulling the towel from behind her head the Badger sits up against the bath wall, cupping some water into her hands and dropping it into her hair.

He considered that thought for a moment.

"No I did not. Most of the things I've considered I would be saying would normally end with an invocation to the Fire Kami to take the uncivilised barbarian brute to his next life."

He sank deeper into the water.

"But now I know they have baths I'll settle for something a little bit friendlier."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Yeah, that'll learn'em," Yakusoku murmurs with a grin, stretching her arms out along the wall of the bath and letting out a relaxed sigh.

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko snorts. "Conquer the gaijin, one bath house at a time." He grins at the absurdity of the idea.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"Such a civilised way to wage war."

Even the Agasha was in on the humour.

[Tsuruchi Kiyo]

Rain was good for a quick shower, a quick scrub in the hold was good to get the worst of the filth from your skin, a dip in the sea was great to cool off, but when baths were available Kiyo was quick to take advantage of them. Having scrubbed her skin pink and tied her long hair back into a knot, she makes her way to the soaking.

"Ohiyo!" she greets the other woman and lowers herself into the hot water with an audible sigh of contentment.

[Hida Musasha]

Ram sits there quietly content listening to the group carrying on. Felt like home, only such good times never came without the feeling of grasping at them desperately.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Mornin' Tsuruchi-san," Yakusoku nods to the woman, shifting against the side of the bath, the ongoing discussion leaving a smirk on her face. "It could be tough warrin' with'em that way though. I mean, how many of'em bathe?"

[Hida Musasha]

Ram adds to that, "I don' bathe, but at least I wash every day. Stink makes things want ta kill ya, 'n' put ya outta its misery."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

"By the smell as we came in I would hazard a guess at 'as often as it rains'."

He wrinkled his nose at the memory of the short trip to the Embassy, but it wouldn't stop him venturing out later. They had orders after all.

[Usagi Zenko]

"Hmm...true," the Hare comments on the Ichiro's point. "We'll have to include tea houses. Everyone drinks tea, right?"

[Hida Musasha]

The Hida dunks his head again, as he rises, "I don't. I drink sochu or water, but tea makes me pee too much. Armor on all th' time an such."

[Usagi Zenko]

"Ah. Uhm. Point taken." Zenko nods. "Okay then. OH!" He grins a bit. "Bathhouses and kabuki."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan tries his best not to look aghast at the Crab, but the usagi barrels on and the moment for objecting to bad manners is gone. Not that a Crab would have taken any notice mind you.

"Nothing wrong with a good tea house."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Tea's alright once in awhile," Yakusoku shrugs. "Good for wakin' up some mornin's. 'Specially the cold ones."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

The lure of the baths is strong. Strong enough to draw a certain Scorpion into their steamy embrace. While he'd left the meeting with the Captain with the Agasha, he'd stopped off somewhere. Anyone who cared might notice that the mask that he's still wearing, has been cleaned thoroughly. His skin is an interesting contrast of colors, pale where the uniform has sheltered him from the sun, farmer tan where it has not.

He bows to the assembled samurai, and then slips into the baths, mask still on.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Mornin' Bayushi-san," Yakusoku greets the newcomer with a slight bob of her head. "Glad to see more fellas showin' up to enjoy the baths. Was wonderin' how many'd stick on the boat."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

"An interesting thing to wonder Ichiro-san." Nobuyoshi agrees. "We all had to give up quite a bit of what would be considered 'proper' back home to adapt to life at the sea. Still, some will find that setting foot on gaijin soil is the line they will not cross."

Nobuyoshi shrugs.

"Hopefully we'll return with a great deal of useful information, and still be acceptable in society." Nobuyoshi offers in his usual flat way of speaking.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Anyone labels me 'unacceptable' after comin' 'ere, they're gonna end up with my sandal in their ass. Samurai 'ave gone worse places than this, come back and been 'acceptable'," for a moment her gaze moves to Musasha as if to prove her point. She didn't sound upset; simply stated the fact in a level tone. Her crooked smile still played across her lips, even widening some at the thought of a scrap with another crewman.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan vaguely nodded towards the Bayushi as he entered before sinking even deeper into the water until only his face was above the surface, hair fanning out across the water around him.

"I wonder what the kami here are like?"
