Lunch! (Mid Afternoon Day 3 open.)

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito made his way towards the aft deck late in the hour of Akodo his hands full of various dishes and a tatami mat on the ground. Looking up he pondered the sky for a moment and deciding it wouldn't rain soon he started to set things up. The tatami mat went down followed by a pot of cold tea and a bowl containing rice and dried fish. Lastly came a small package from his sash wrapped in silk. Might as well eat these while they are still good.

[Hida Sayuri]

Done with the morning's duties, Sayuri watches from a seat on the edge of a large coil of rope. Her stomach growls with the reminder that she ought to head below for lunch soon, while it's still there. Hard to ever feel sated on ship's rations for someone her size.

She grins at the smaller man. "Enjoyin' the weather while it holds?"

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan didn't have much of an appetite today; he made due with some dried fish and vegetables at the galley before taking a stroll on the deck to stretch his legs. He noticed the mountain of a woman poised on the coiled rope, and the Mantis who was on the skiff yesterday. He made his way over to them, and bowed to them both. "Good afternoon."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Indeed so Hida-san figure I may as well spend a bit more time out before the rain hits." He said with a smile. "Not much to my lunch but care to join me?" he said as he montioned to the meal.

As the bayushi approaches Kaito returned the bow and offered the man a smile. "Afternoon Bayushi-san."

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan smiled behind his mask, "Enjoying the sunshine while it lasts?" He bowed again to the Hida, "Forgive the lack of introduction, I am Bayushi Usan. Pleasure to meet you."

[Hida Sayuri]

After rising from her seat, a single step brings her to the edge of the mat, where a short bow offers a nod to nearly forgotten etiquette. "Join you fer the conversation, but rations're small enough. Won't take someone else's 'less they're sure they're just gonna offer it ta the fishes otherwise."

Before dropping to a cross-legged seat, taking up most of one side of the mat, she sketches a similar bow to the newcomer. "Afternoon, Bayushi-san." A short pause later she hastily adds, "Apologies, Hida Sayuri. Pleasure ta share the fresh air with ya before the rain pushes most belowdecks."

[Bayushi Usan]

"I certainly have no qualms with fresh air at all. Mind if I join you both? For company? I've already eaten." He certainly wasn't wasn't after the Mantis's lunch, rations were sparse enough as is.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Well that's true enough Hida-san and please go ahead and have a seat Bayushi-san." He said gesturing to a place on the tatami mat. "As for sharing lunch though I was mostly talking about these." He said as he unwrapped the small package to reveal some honeyed rice cakes. "Brought with me because they would keep for a while and figured now was as good a time to eat em as any."

[Bayushi Usan]

"Thank you Yoritomo-san," Usan replied as he sat down. "Ah, a charming treat. I should have thought to have brought a few from home, myself."

[Hida Sayuri]

Sayuri's eyes lit up at the sight of the sweets. "Generous of you...Yoritomo-san, was it?" There was some memory by now of at least family names after hearing them at one training or another by now. She reaches to pluck one from the package. "Thanks much for that. Only a bit out and I'm missin' things like this."

"Guess they wouldn't last all that long out here. Get 'em at port, before we left?"

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito nods in affirmation at the mention of his name before taking a few bites of his meal. "Yeah, I generally pick up a little bit of something before I leave port Hida-san. Some sweets a little sake or shochu and tobacco, sweets always have to go first but the other two I can generally spread out over the journey."

[Hida Sayuri]

She nods with a smile. "Little things, but they make a difference."

Almost delicately, she took a tiny bite, intending to make the small luxury last a bit. Should giant tentacled monsters attack the ship in the next few minutes...she would swing her weapon one-handed until the much appreciated sweet was finished. "Hafta remember that. I seldom shipped out long enough from port to miss sweets."

"Where all have ya shipped out from then? Before comin' ta serve here?"

[Yoritomo Kaito]

He smiles slightly at the Hida's enjoyment and motions the Bayushi to join her if he wished before speaking. "Oh all over the place really but generally around the isles of silk and spice. Escort Duty for trade ships and pirate hunting has been the majority of my duties. Mean's I've seen a good many of the empires ports too but not all of em."
