[Day 3, Early Evening] Bedside Chats - OPEN

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko's been listening silently in the corner, happily not going up on deck while the ocean came down from the sky.

[Tsuruchi Kiyo]

Having chosen to turn in early today, Kiyo listens from her bunk. If the captain was expecting trouble their first call to port could be more fun than expected.

[Bayushi Hoshi]

And I thought we were only going to a way station... "And may I ask what will be done with our passenger?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"He'll be turned over to his people," he replies with a shrug.

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko frowned a bit, in thought. "Should we.." He paused, "Captain-sama, should we attempt to learn this language, if we're expected as part of the Legion to put into these kinds of ports?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"You're not, actually," the man replies with a wry twist of his lips, "Only a few of the Ninth Legion ever leaves the Empire's waters. It's a special assignment for ne'er do wells such as myself and maybe a few of you if I decide to make the recommendation."

[Usagi Zenko]

He nods at that. "Ah, okay."

He closes his eyes a moment in thought, before opening them again. "What kind of enemies, if any, can we expect in these waters?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Usually? Pirates," he replies calmly, "But, like the Mantis and the Kasuga, they tend to start later in the spring."

[Usagi Zenko]

He nods at this, a little confused. "Why? Why does everyone tend to start later?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Storms," he replies simply as he knocks on the hull of the ship, "Also, it generally takes time for trade goods to go from one place to another and as a rule of thumb, most people are bogged down by torrential rains or snow in winter."

[Usagi Zenko]

"Ah...and as we're not a trade fleet..." he nods in thanks to the Captain's explanation, going quiet so others questions could be asked.
