Duties Need Filling (Day 3, Evening)

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha thought it would be a good idea to deal with this issue while most of the crew was eating. That being said, he knocks on the panel of the map room door, hoping the Captain was there and not overly busy.

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

It wasn't long before a voice calls, "Come in."

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha enters and bows deeply, "Cap'n, 'm I intruding?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

Uminushi looks up from his maps and sits back on one of the cushions. He eyes the Crab a moment before cracking a smile and shrugging, "Not any more or less than anyone else. I was actually expecting a little line in front of my door. I suppose that's a credit to Kaimenko-san's ability to put a fright in a trainee. Something on your mind Hida-san?"

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "I heard th' head budoka is...not staying on. It ain't my business why, 'n' I've no intention of askin'. However, I'm worried 'bout th' sudden vacancy in th' trainin' of th' recruits. The yari's a useful weapon, 'n' easy ta learn 'n' master. As th' Gunso have both mentioned that it's th' best weapon fer repellin' boardin' attackers, I was wondering if ya had anyone in mind fer taking up th' duty of teachin' use in it."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Are you offering?" he asks, getting straight to the point, "Kaimenko-san is a fair hand with polearms and that'll do in a pinch, but they're more unwieldily for the... slender of wrist."

Uminushi's brows arch, amusement clear in his expression at his own euphemism.

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "Either me er Shiba Naomi are capable. I ain't a master, but am I'm what's known as a master o' arms, 'n' ken master any weapon in two days. If ya want me ta do it, I'll set my head ta learnin', and be able ta teach more then jus' th' basics by tomorrow afternoon. Be able ta teach th' complex stuff by th' end o' th' week. Shiba Naomi may already have th' know how ta teach it. Seen her trainin' wi' her yari already, 'n' I would na want ta step on her toes if she wants th' job."

He scratches his nose, "I ain't so proud as ta make an enemy of someone tha' might save my life one day."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Why don't we set her up first and you can assist?" he suggests while popping his neck. "Are you both on the same duty roster...?"

[Hida Musasha]

Ram shakes his head, "Same postin', but I'm th' mornin' and she's th' afternoon."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Hmm, well one of you will have to give up a bit of free time to help the other along. I'll let you two work out who gives what or who trades what."

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "If there's work ta be done, I'll be there, Cap'n. I don' need no reward fer it. Jus' knowin' tha' everyone is ready fer th' next attack brings me th' peace most others seek 'n' readin' an' such."

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Then it's settled," comes the man's cheerful reply.

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "Yes, Cap'n. Dismissed, sir?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Aye, have at it and feel free to tell lurkers they can come assail my sanctuary if something lies heavy on their minds," the man gives the door a long-suffering look and shakes his head. "And here I thought I was doing a good job at making myself approachable. Ah well."

[Usagi Zenko]

There is a knock on the door, from a slightly wet Hare.

He seems to possibly be shivering.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha nods, "As ya say, Cap'n." He nods at the Hare as he passses him on the way out.

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko bows to the Hida as he exits, doing his best not to peer inside as he exits. He wipes his hands on the drier part of his hakama to make sure they're not dripping wet.

Where did that bucket come from, anyways?

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Come in, Usagi-san, just don't drip on my maps," he calls, expression becoming bland with amusement.

[Usagi Zenko]

He bows, and then nods. "Hai Captain-sama."

Entering, he tries to stay away from the walls and maps, controlling his steps carefully, in attempt not to shake any excess water off of himself. "I...uhm. Wanted to ask you a few questions, as regards my duties on the ship?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"That's not a very good question, sort of open-ended and not specific," he replies as a roguish smile crosses his features.
