Collecting Dues (Day 3, night)

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko stood on the foredeck, dressed in her usual attire, with the addition of her hands being wrapped up. There was a focused look on her face as she began throwing punches in a method that suggested that she was releasing anger instead of actually training. She also looked around a few times, as if waiting for someone to arrive.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki arrived after a few minutes, clad in a thin white kimono that lacked sleeves and any material below her knees. "Good evening, Yasuki-sama," she says as she approaches the other woman. "I hope that your day has been pleasant?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Meh," she said lightly, "Had better, had worse. Fer now, it's time fer me te collect. Have you been practicin' yer falls at all?"

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"I have not," she admits, with a curious tilt of her head. "Do you intend to 'rough me up' a bit, Yasuki-sama?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko nods. "I'm gonna turn ye into somethin' worth sparrin' with. If that pacifist Daidoji can learn the basics, surely ye can, too." Rinzuki would get the sense that Himiko had no intention to make this a pleasant experience for her.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Might I ask why?" It seemed an honest question. "It is unlikely that I will become any good at such a thing, and in the event of an attack, it is more efficient for me to call upon the kami for aid. I do not mind the lessons, of course, but any injuries I sustain have a negative effect upon the level of medical attention aboard the ship."

She glances out towards the darkened ocean. "Unless you merely wish to beat me for some perceived sleight, in which case it would be quicker for both of us to dispense with the pretense and get right to it."

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Lemme ask ye a question, Iuchi-san." Himiko's eyebrow raised. "Are ye really so naive as te believe that ye'll always be able to call upon the kami in an emergency? I, fer one, highly doubt it, which is why I'm takin' it on meself te make sure that, if nothin' else, ye can hold someone down til one of us who knows what we're doin' can finish the job."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"It could just as easily be one of my opponent's allies coming to his rescue, could it not? And then I have no means of defending myself, as I will be grappling with a more experienced warrior." She shakes her head. "It would seem more prudent to adopt a position of defense and force the opponent to come to me, would it not? I do have a certain amount of combat experience, Yasuki-sama."

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Perhaps, then, we have different philosophies on the matter, Iuchi-san. Then again, if I'm on the ground with an adversary, my goal is to make sure their neck breaks as quickly as possible. A dead opponent can't fight back." She looks up for a moment, then shakes her head. "Regardless, a passing knowledge of Jiujutsu should still be placed upon ye. Thankfully, in a matter of threat priority, ye probably rank pretty low since ye look about as threatenin' as a particularly thick flower."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"That is reassuring," she says with a smile. "If you wish, we can practice in that way. It seems like an odd way to spend our time together, but if that is what you have decided to do with me, I shall comply."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko shrugs. "'s not like ye have anything else I want, unless ye wanna tell me what that spell actually did." She smirked a bit. "Now, lessee if ye remember how te get into a jiujutsu stance."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Are you sure?" She falls into a loose stance. "I give wonderful backrubs."

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Y'know, I considered that. But back pain builds character." She dropped into her own stance, loose and confident as always. "We're gonna do things a bit differently this time. I'm gonna teach you a throw, and from the throw we'll do some groundwork."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"All right." She lifts her hands in a loose approximation of a fighting stance. "What should I do first?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Alright so your strong hand is gonna take hold of any material of cloth ye can get ahold of close to my near shoulder. If they aren't wearing anythin', just grab at their collarbone. The other hand grabs my strong arm, preferably around the elbow, and from there..." and she was off, explaining all of the steps of throwing someone to the ground. She is, of course, smart enough to have Rinzuki not throw her yet.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki nods as she listens to the explanation. "Understood."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko nods. "Good. Now try a few times without throwing me."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki steps forward, one hand grabbing onto Himiko's arm as the other grasps her by the shoulder. "Like this?"

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko nods. "God, but grab the parts of my wraps that are tied on my shoulders. Clothes are easier to pull around, so you should use them when you have them." Himiko then grabbed Rinzuki's arm and the hem of her kimono.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Right," she says, wrapping her hand around the Crab's wrappings. "Now what?"
