Day 1, Late Morning, OPEN Food?

Once the meal is served, the cook quickly disappears into the back room again where the sound of cleaning can be heard.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi's eyes became distant. "My words and deeds were part of the problem, and the act of one or even of two people was undone by the prideful spite of the third. There was no possibility of true justice."

He sighed. "The ironic part is that he died not for his aggressive action, but for telling a simple truth."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shrugs, not really interested in the matter.

"People die upholding their Duty, like the yojimbo throwing himself between his lord and an assassin's blade. People die upholding their Sincerity, offering their seppeku to cleanse their shame, or to protest their lord's actions. Why should Honesty be any less lethal? Nobuyoshi says.

"Saibankan would disagree that there can be no true justice, however. As long as the perpetrator of the injustice lives, and there is someone who has born witness to the injustice, does a samurai not have a Duty to deliver justice, rather than wallowing in Regret or cowering in Fear?" Nobuyoshi asks, his voice still emotionless, just simply discussing matters of bushido over breakfast.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"In this case, to do so would be to bring about further injustices. This one's hands are very much tied."

His focus returned. "I don't suppose you've heard of tentacle monsters before?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shrugs, uncaring of the shift of conversation.

"Only as a descriptive phrase for certain samurai who cannot keep their hands to themselves when in the company of others." Nobuyoshi offers. "Doesn't really sound like the term would fit you or those you normally keep company with, Daidoji-san."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"That's what I thought it was referring to as well, but Yasuki-san is convinced there is such a thing. She was explaining to me exactly how she was going to beat one into submission."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shrugs.

"Crabs have a language all their own, why do you think they call non-Crab ponies? Nobuyoshi responds dismissively. "But then again, considering her temperament, not keeping your hands to yourself around her would very likely result in her beating a tentacle monster into submission."

"Hopefully, he won't grab a hold of one who is into that sort of thing." he adds his tone neutral.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi blushed deeply. "Oh, I ah, hadn't thought of that. Yes, that would be an unfortunate turn of events for Yasuki-san."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi finishes his breakfast and tea.

"I should probably get going, I want to be on shift a bit early today to give Moshi-gunso a less obvious target for her wrath." he says, rising and giving the Crane a bow.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"A pleasant day to you, Bayushi-san," the Crane replies. His bow is fluid and precise.

After a short time savoring the last of his tea, he rises and departs. It was past time to see about how one goes about 'bulking up.'
