Workin' Again [Day 2, Mid-Afternoon OPEN]

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Once again, Yakusoku arrives a bit early to begin the days work. In uniform the woman's tattoos are once again fully visible and her gold, hoop earrings dangle from her ears. As she makes her way onto the Foredeck, she stretches putting one hand to her opposite shoulder, then the other. As she passes by heimin sailors she offers them polite nods and smiles, pondering when would be best to head to the hold and actually speak with them. Before this mess with Dageki or after...? Sighing, her smile falters for a moment but she pushes aside the hint of annoyance. Another problem for another time. Now it was time for work.

[Toritaka Punchiru]

Toritaka Punchiru is already on deck.

"Ichiro-san, have you noticed the odd objects on the sea?"

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Hmm?" Yakusoku glances up at the Crab and cocks her head slightly. "Can't say I noticed Toritaka-san. Been a bit preoccupied I 'spose. What's goin' on?" Looking at the other sailors for a moment the Badger moves to cautiously and curiously look over the edge of the boat.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku moved up alongside the Crab, a rope over his shoulder. "Wreckage of something. Could be there's a swirl of currents and its just picked stuff up from the islands." He shrugs. "Guess we'll know soon enough, they're getting bigger by the look of it."

[Toritaka Punchiru]

"I wish we had found survivors. I fear for the victims of this calamity."

Punchiru keeps a close look to the sides for such an unfortunate.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"If it keeps gettin' bigger we're likely lookin' at something recent," Yakusoku murmurs, scratching idly at the back of her neck. "Hope that's not the case though. Dyin' like that's no way to go and the last our ship needs is to be runnin' into trouble while so many are still learnin' the ropes."

[Toritaka Punchiru]

"I hope we are up to the task. At least I know how to avoid such things. Plucking the unfortunate from the drink is another mater."

Punchiru shudders. A bad death.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku gives them both an incredulous look. "Of course we are up to the task. We are the Imperial Navy!" His grin returns. "Don't worry, I'm sure we're all fast learners." Laughing lightly the Lion leaps up into the rigging of the foremast and gets to work with the ropes.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku's eyes follow the Lion as he heads up into the rigger. We're the Imperial Legion. Half this lot has no right to call themselves 'navy' just yet. "I'm sure with the gunso, the hardened sailors and those of us who can more than hold our own in a scrap, we'd do alright. Just a matter of what we'd be lookin' like after the tussle..."

[Toritaka Punchiru]

"We are very fortunate to have so many skilled in healing on this voyage. Most cities do not bear such talent, let alone ships."

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

The Kitsuki stands on the foredeck, his mismatched eyes focused on the waters around the ship.

[Toritaka Punchiru]

"Good afternoon, samurai-sama. I do not believe we have met. I am Toritaka Punchiru."

Punchiru extends a bow to Kotsu, then also begins to scan the wreckage.

Four eyes see twice as good.

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Yakusoku offers a quick nod to the Kitsuki before turning more of her attention toward her work. Now and again her gaze moves out onto the water, scanning the horizon. She wasn't a scout by any means but still she'd keep an eye out for any trouble.

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

The Dragon turns to the Crab and offers a bow.

"Good afternoon, Toritaka-san. I am Kitsuki Kotsu."

[Toritaka Punchiru]

"Have you seen anything of interest in the wreckage, Kitsuki-sama?"

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

The Dragon's eyes look out at the sea, narrowing a little as he thinks about what he sees.

"Beyond the wreckage itself, I've seen nothing, Toritaka-san. There doesn't seem to be any sign of what wrecked the ship. It may have another vessel, some sort of hidden reef or possibly some massive beast of the ocean. Of course, that's mere speculation on my part. Although the captain recognized the ship as being from the Ivory Kingdoms"

[Toritaka Punchiru]

"Hmm...well we will have to make certain we do not share such a fate."
