There was a mischievous glint in her eye at that. "Oh, I'm sure we won't have to worry about making a mess out of ourselves. If the sips I've taken are any indication, we'll be outta sake before we get that bad." She poured a drink for both of them, then picked up her cup. "To the sea, and all it's majesty."

[Hida Musasha]

He burps in agreement and drains his cup.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Again she began pouring cups for the two of them. "So, where were you stuck before here?"

[Hida Musasha]

He pops a small doughy ball of bread in his mouth as she asks, and swallows it without chewing before responding, "The Sea o' Sorrows. On the Jade Fortress, we was patrollin' some o' the nastiest waters one never wants to sail upon." He raises his cup, "Ta my brothers, who didn't get a cushy job patrollin' fer soft skins an' pirates."

[Yasuki Himiko]

"Kampai!" She shouted loudly, though even as she hit the drink there was a look of envy in her eyes. "You were honored with an appointment on the Jade Fortress? Even considering where you had to patrol, that is a fantastic privilege!" She seemed legitimately excited now, knowing where his previous appointment was.

[Hida Musasha]

"Killed more tentacle monsters than I can count. It's why I cut my hair. Tentacle monsters and hair don't mix well, lass. They get all twisted up together, and ya get dragged below. That ain't how I'm goin'. That slimy bastard hassa get his mitts around ma waist an' deal wit' me bitin' it an' stabbin' it all the way down."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Upon hearing mention of tentacle monsters, Rinzuki's attention turns towards the conversation between the Crab. There was a look of disbelief on her features, though much of her surprise was hidden behind a hasty sip of sake.

"Tentacle monsters?" she asks after a moment, her surprise carrying over into her voice.

[Yasuki Himiko]

She grinned widely at that. "Good policy. If I'm ever moved to one of the turtle ships, I'll hafta consider shaving my head. It'd be embarrassing to be the one Crab who got pulled down by her hair by some tentacled-beast." And again she began pouring drinks. "Wish I could say I had appointments like that. Spent most of my time in the last conflict involvin' my family name." And then she picked up her cup. "Ta not being dragged into the see by Tentacle monsters."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi had been on a number of voyages before. But none that were anything remotely like what Musasha was describing. As his tales continue, her eyes grow wider and wider, until they're the size of... well... tea saucers, honestly. Since dinner plates would be a bit too large to fit in her face.

She quickly nibbles at her food and listens with rapt attention. Koichi had had a habit of telling tales like this, and she always enjoyed them.

We keep more on duty sailors at night in the Sea o' Sorrows, girly...erm...-san." The last part is obviously an attempt to be polite.

"I'll drink ta that anytime." He drains his cup. "Sorry ta hear about yer loss a kin." It's quickly becoming obvious that he's becoming more comfortable around the other crab, as his High Rokugani begins to slip back into the more common stuff used in Crab lands, "tis a shame they had tae fight each other ta make somethin' happen. Ain't right. There's things that really mean us harm out there. Killin' one another wastes good bushi that could be takin' out the minions o' Him." He turns his head and spits at the common moniker for Fu Leng.

[Shinjo Qulan]

Qulan nearly choked on her drink as the words 'tentacle monster' came up. Okay, she kinda did. She was coughing a good while, too. What in the world are they talking about? Tentacle monsters? I hope we don't come across any of those... That'd get really weird, really fast. I'd never want to eat octopus again. And I love octopus.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko spits in return. "Damn right. But there ain't much to do about it. Kuon-sama tells my unit to go bash some heads, I go bash some heads. Boss says I need to rip somethin' apart, I rip it apart. 's the way of things, eh?" She poured the cups again and lifted hers up. "To our brothers and sisters, who fought and died to return solidarity to the Yasuki family." She hits the drink hard this time, and when she slams the cup on the table, the force combined with her grip actually shatters the ceramic cup. "Ah, sh*t."

[Hida Musasha]

The Hida laughs, "Here, use mine." He pulls a small sake bowl out for her, "Just don't break it. Can't replace those until we get back ta port."

He drains his cup as well to the toast.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki frowns as she sets down her cup and moves closer to the two Crab. "Are you alright, Yasuki-sama? Did any of the shards pierce the flesh?"

[Shiba Nozomi]

At the talk of smashing heads, the tiny Shiba loses interest in the storytelling. Also, her bowl was empty. Scooting down from her spot, she approaches the table of food once again, tapping her chopsticks lightly against her bottom lip. Some of the fresh fruit was looking particularly appetizing... but there were no serving utensils there for it.

She really wants to avoid having to reach out and grab some with her fingers or used chopsticks, but she's beginning to wonder if there's any other options.

[Yasuki Himiko]

"I'm fine, Iuchi-san," she muttered lightly, though a drop of blood did hit the table from where a piece of ceramic was likely stuck in her hand. She just moved the hand under the table and used the other one to pour the next round of drinks. "And don't -Sama me, please. I ain't anyone special."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki eyes the drop of blood with a raised eyebrow. "If you say so, Yasuki-san. Though I should note that it's possible for even small wounds to damage the pathways of chi within one's body, leading to an increase of earth in the damaged limb and eventually, irreparable paralysis."

She looks to the other Crab, and then back to the woman.

"Or, in the worst of cases, the green rot, which necessitates the removal of the affected limb. From what I understand, the dangers of such an infection increase exponentially in warmer climates."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko sighed lightly, holding the hand out for the Iuchi to inspect. Sure enough, one of the larger pieces of ceramic had embedded itself into her palm, and blood was flowing fairly freely. For her part, she didn't seem to show any signs of discomfort or pain. "If ya insist, Iuchi-san, here ya go."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Thank you," she says, bowing to the other woman as she takes a seat opposite her. Rinzuki leans forward, inspecting the wound from one angle and then the next.

"This does not look too bad. Truly, othing more than the least of wounds, but since I am here..." She reaches down and carefully pulls the shard from Himiko's finger, setting it carefully down on the table in front of her. Then she mutters a brief prayer asking the water kami to flow into the wound and knit together the torn flesh.

"All better," she says with a wink.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan had been busy, very busily choosing where he would strike to sink the vessel if he had to when the sound of breaking ceramics cut through his distraction. For a moment he considered intervening but the Unicorn had got there first. No point being rude and cutting in now. He was Isawa trained . . . but not an Isawa.
