[Day 2, Midafternoon] Survivors...?

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Jade would be best." She shrugs her shoulders and glances towards Kaito. "I have no immediate suspicions, but finding one survivor and no bodies is strange enough that I believe we should be cautious. I wouldn't want to see you injured because you decided to drag a zombie back to our skiff."

[elonweis]

Beneath the waters twin shadows weave, the circle the debris, briefly closing on the Half Moon's skiff before moving away. Whatever it was doesn't attack, but not a metre away one of the remaining bodies disappears as the creatures tear it apart. A hand bobs away from the fray and eventually bumps against the survivor's leg.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"True enough." He says as he spots what could be sharks. "May be best to stay out of the water anyways. Anyone have some Jade?"

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan shook his head, "Not I." He began to string his bow, "Though I can fire a warning shot should those.." he nodded to the shadows in the water, "Things start to swim in your direction."

[elonweis]

The creatures, whatever they were, were busy tearing apart easier 'prey' and seemed content to stay where they were as the water churned and turned a shade of purple. The drifting hand sank in to the depths.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

He frowned slightly and looked over at the swimming forms. "No time like the present then I guess. Don't figure he's a abomination if he had the mind to strap himself to the ship like that. So I'm just gonna chance it" He said as he slipped into the water trying to think unappetizing thoughts just in case. "Just shout if they come this way Bayushi-san no needs for arrows." He replied as he started to swim towards the man.

The sharks don't seem to notice Kaito as he makes his way over to the body. As he gets closer he can see that the man had apparently suffered some injuries as well from the relatively fresh cuts that were on his body. All of them looked to be in the process of healing, though one of the injuries was inflamed and looked to be oozing puss.

Small fish that had been nibbling on the body's hands and feet quickly scattered as Kaito approached. When the Yoritomo stopped moving he could see that it was a man, and that his chest was periodically rising and falling. His face was turned away from Kaito however, and he had stopped groaning. The board wasn't big enough for two however and swimming with dead weight was never fun.

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan uncoiled his rope, and tried to gauge the distance between Kaito and the boat. He shouted, "Need a hand Yoritomo-san?"

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Hai." Came the Yoritomo's call as he looked the man over for a moment. Muttering. "You better not be a zombie." As he moved to untie the rope securing the man to the flotsam.

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan looked around for something to secure one end of the rope to; if he couldn't find something else handy the thwart would have to do. He then reached behind his head to untie his mask, leaving the scarf behind on the boat with his bow, quiver, and one of his sai.

Usan secured the rope to the skiff, knotting the rope tightly. He then wrapped the other end of the rope around his wrist a few times before diving into the water. He surfaced, then began to swim his way to the Mantis and the survivor.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito hadn't really expected the man to come out on his own merely throw the rope over but he was mildly glad of it. The extra hands would make tying the man with the rope easier as well as the swimming back to the boat that came next.

"Thanks for the help Bayushi-san." He murmured as the scorpion got closer as frustrated with the knots he moved to retrieve one of his kama in order to cut the man free.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki glances down at something in her satchel and mumbles something beneath her breath, looking up only after a few moments.

"...the kami are nervous for some reason..."

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan tossed the rope over the plank the man was on, "Perhaps if we tie the rope to the plank we can pull him in? I don't think he's in any condition to swim."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

The mantis stopped in his actions for a moment and glanced at the scorpion. "I was gonna get him off this piece of wood tie the rope around him and keep him afloat as he haul him in." He said after a moment. "If you think hauling the board in is better though I figure we can go with that though."

[Volsung]

The man's eyes are closed but they flutter briefly as the boat approaches. He groans again but his eyes close and he does not move at all as the group gets to work.

(Perception/Investigation Rolls)

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito's eyes never stop moving but it's unlikely he spots anything out of the ordinary.

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan nodded, 'Well this is my first sea rescue, so I'll defer to your expertise, Yoritomo-san."He peered at the man on the board, curiously.

He thinks at it for a moment then nods. "If the man is tainted it's likely be better to not be carrying him around your neck Bayushi-san." We'll do it your way he replied as he started to tie the bayushi's rope to the rope securing the man to the plank it's likely be the easiest way to do it after all.

((Also not ignoring you Rinzuki just figured we're in the water and a bit away from the boat and you didn't speak up so I didn't hear ya.))

[Bayushi Usan]

Usan treaded water as Kaito tied his rope to the plank, keeping an eye out for dangerous fish. "Should one person stay near the plank while the other pulls him in?"

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito suppressed a sigh weren't there two perfectly goo hands on the skiff to help pull the man in? "Aye at least one of should remain with him keep the board from flipping over and drowning him or the like. The other can stay or go help the ladies pull him in. I reckin they would like a hand."
