Island Prayers (Moon 14 afternoon openish)

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Eh we're going in part to ward of Ill luck tooso there shouldn't be a problem." Came Kaito's response as he climbed onto the skiff with everyone else.

"On that note Spooks have ya found names for those kittens of yours yet?

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

Choukichi frowns heavily.

"They aren't my kittens, they are the ships kittens, I can't name them myself... But no, no names for them yet, and we can't let it stay that way too long."

[Tsuruchi Kiyo]

Oh yes this one is going to be fun to be around...

"If it makes you feel any better, I promise I'll plug the leak with my finger if it comes to that," she easily hops onto the skiff and begins preparing the skiff for their short trip.

"Kittens? Boys or girls or one of each?"

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

"No need for that, i'm not crazy."

Choukichi frowns a little as he starts helping to prepare the skiff.

"They are brothers, twin brothers. Very lucky, though nobody else seems to see it."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito considers that for a moment then nods twin kittens were likely good fortune. "True enough though Cook-san told me they were a bit too young to properly give out good luck yet. Likely thing is their mama cat hadn't gotten around to teachin them how."

"Ya got many suggestions for names yet?"

[Tsuruchi Kiyo]

"The only people that think cats are bad luck are those rat-loving Scorpions," Kiyo comments as she continues her work, "Personally I'll take cats over rats anyday."

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

"Terrible ones, how could Chaos and Mayhem be good names for our lucky cats? ... They don't need to learn how to give out good luck, Suitengu and Osano-Wo like cats so they bless ships that carry them and treat them well."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

He wasn't sure that Suitengu liked cats Osano-wo surely did though and likely Isora to so he could see the man's point though. "Mayhaps you are right there spooks. You think we should maybe name em after spices?"

"As to the rats Tsuruchi-san the ship has a couple ferrets Salt and Pepper to deal with them."

[Moshi Chihiroko]

Wordlessly, Chihiroko went about her business. The longer the discussion continued, the more she felt as if she were traveling with a pet store. Ferrets? Rats? Cats? What next? Horses and monkeys? She just shook her head.

[Tsuruchi Kiyo]

"Oh... Salt and Pepper would have been my suggestion," she couldn't care less about good or bad luck, but a few more ratcatchers never hurt, "I guess naming them after the Fortunes would be a bad idea?"

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

"Spices would work I guess, though that might upset the cook, she doesn't much care for cats."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"True true." Came Kaito's response after a moment of thought. "Not quite sure what else we could use as a naming scheme though. Anyone have any ideas?"

The boat was now under way and it would be a short time until the reached the island and got to syaing teh proper prayers.

[Tsuruchi Kiyo]

"Since they're lucky cats, what about Man and Neki?" she replies from the bow of the skiff.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

Chihiroko popped a sweet in her mouth to keep from lighting up her kiseru in such close quarters.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Man and Neki don't say too bad to me." Replied Kaito as he guided the small skiff towards the Island shore. "Likely or not it would keep the cook happy to that they aren't named spices."

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

The look that briefly flashes over Choukichi's face when Kiyo gives her suggestion could only be described as absolute adoration.

"Ah, that's exactly the sort of name they need!"

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Well then unless you can think of a tad better names might as well use those. Best to get the lil one's named as soon as possible." Kaito said as they approached the shore of the little island along side a few others of the skiffs.

"Looks like we're here."

[Tsuruchi Kiyo]

"You're welcome!" Kiyo replies as she jumps ashore to tie up the skiff, Maybe he won't blame me now next time the boat springs a leak...

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito hopped off the skiff as soon as it was tied off taking a few moments to look around the Island. "Well I figure unless you all wanted to go in a group I figured we could all just go about making our prayers on our own." He said shifting his feet slightly to get more used to the solid ground.

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

"i'll reccomend the names to some of the other crew, see what they think and hopefully can get enough to agree with it to make those their new names."

Once they reach the island, Choukichi hops off the skiff and helps tie it down, then nods his head in agreement with Kaito about doing their own prayers.
