Feeling self-concious, Nozomi makes her way from the crew quarters to the heimin ones. Over one arm is a basket that has her Imperial Navy shirt in it, as well as a few other odds and ends. Poking her head around the doorway, she calls out softly, "Hello?"

What with everything that was going on, she figured getting things properly in order was the best way to go. After all, making sure the sickbay was spotless had seemed to help...

A little surprised that there was another samurai hanging about, the slight woman just stands there a moment.

"Er... C-crane-san. Ano... h-have you seen Amaya? I h-had a request of h-her..."

"Oh..." he says, looking up a bit startled, "My apologies, Phoenix-sama, for the rude greeting. I am Asahina Masamichi. I'm afraid I have not seen an Amaya recently. I was just making myself busy with some work, can I help you with anything?"

The small girl holds up an equally small Legion shirt. "C-Can you s-sew?"

He looks down to his which remains monless, "I am afraid I am limited to rope and wood. I've stitched up a sail before, but I imagine you'd like a finer hand than mine." he says with a bit of a smile.

She shrugs slightly, not wishing to insult him by implying he was unskilled. "Ano... you m-might be able to h-help me, st-still... The g-girl who got h-hurt... what was her n-name?"

"The heimin hit in the head badly?", he strokes his beautiful moustache thoughtfully, "I remember seeing her at that lesson and hearing that Daidoji did it... can't say I know her name though." he says with a frown.

She frowns. "I'd ask O-Washi-gunzo... b-but..." A swift glance is cast upwards to a location out of sight. Pestering the gunzo about people's names seemed less than brilliant at the moment.

With a sigh, she carefully places her basket down. She'd just have to wait, then. "W-would you like any h-help with th-that?"

"Oh, thank you." he says looking back to his near-unconcious braiding "But while more rope is always needed, it is mostly busy work. I fell out of Moshi-gunso's good graces and am trying to work my way back" he says with a smile, seemingly accepting of the punishment and crime. "I did get to learn a new way to braid line though."

Trumping down, footsteps could be heard behind the two samurai. They were heavy, causing small creaks in the floorboards that matched a more built person. As they turned the corner, they resolved into a tired-looking peasant in plain clothes, kama and sai tucked into her belt. She was littered with scars that shifted every time her face moved, giving her a bit of a fierce look at points.

At first glanced of them, she saluted smartly. "-samas?"

Masamichi is careful to look up this time to check who is addressing them. "Oh, hello." he says going back to his rope.

Nozomi's expression brightens a bit. "Amaya..." About to ask the woman to do something, she notices how tired the heimin looks, and changes tack just slightly.

"Ano... I w-was wondering what the n-name of the girl who g-got hurt was... Would y-you happen t-to know?" The basket gets slid slightly behind her small frame.

"If ya mean th'carpenter's backup, that'd be Kugi. Most folks call her blossom," she said, straightening up and brushing a hand through her hair. The motion was attended by a closing of the eyes. As her hand passed over her face, she seemed to 'reset' her features, and some of the tiredness slipped away, like she was one accustomed to behaving as if she were not tired in front of samurai. "Heard somethin bout that happenin."

"Some evil Crane clubbed her in the head I heard." he says not looking up from his work, "Have a seat, don't let us get in your way. I'm just keeping busy and I believe Phoenix-san is looking for an 'Amaya'".

"Ummm... if -sama wishes me to be seated I will oblige," she said, taking a spot and looking at them both as long as the Shiba didn't object. "As for the other... I am Amaya, -sama." She was not touching the subject of judging her former lords with a ten foot pole.

Nozomi wrinkles her nose at the Daidoji's comment. "Evil? N-No. But he should b-be more c-careful..."

She'd been a little shocked at how blasè the man had been in his treatment of the girl. Even if the insult he'd given was unintentional, it was not what one would expect for those reknown for being masters of tact and eloquence. Then again, maybe he had his own views on peasants...

Regardless... "Kugi..." She made an effort to commit that to memory. Reaching into the basket, the Shiba pulls out a small packet.

"Kugi is l-likely to feel s-some pretty aw-awful headaches in the co-coming days. A p-pinch or two of th-this added to a g-glass of w-water at every m-meal will help that, w-without dulling h-her senses or re-reactions. W-w-would you give it t-to her for me?"

She looked at substance being offered to her and pondered something. "Ya remember what w'talked bout on the mast th'other day bout impressions n such?" she said, looking it over and nodding as she received the object. "Would ya prefer't be mentioned th'source of th'stuff or not? I'm good either way."

Nozomi had been thinking about that very issue herself. "I tr-trust your judgement on that... you know h-her better than I. I j-just ... I don't want her t-to be in p-pain because she's af-afraid of causing pu-problems."

It wasn't important to her that her name was attached to the help people got. Just that they got the help they needed.

She nodded. "Yeah, I think I can do somethin like that. No problem. She'll b'glad for it," she said, nodding over at the woman. A small fidget and she looked from one to the other. "Anythin else I can do ya for today?"
