[Moon 13, Evening, Rigging]

It is entirely too calm in this sea for Kakita Sugita's tastes. The rolling of the waves isn't enough. Until you get higher where every movement is amplified. He clings to the rigging while softly singing a sailor's tune.
"Heave, ho,
Blow the man down..."
Edited: Changed to Day 13 as per request.

Thus far aside from the stories and all the shujenga acting a bit weird the sea of shadows hadn't been too horrifying though maybe that was because they were on osaku's route. Stepping up onto the deck he glanced around for a few moments making sure there were still crewman of deck before setting of towards the rigging somewhere high might be nice for a chance.
Hearing a song from above he glances up spotting the crane in the roped with the help of the lights. Not one to let a song be sung by one man alone he joins in the tune as he climbs.
"I woke in the morning upon the high seas"

"The spray, she was greetin' me fair", continues the Kakita shooting a smile downward. He nods greeting, too busy with his rough singing.
At the same time, Sugita points outward toward the sunset, which looks foreboding, yet still pretty in it's own way.

"A Kiss from the ocean quite sure to please."He continued attempting to rhyme with his own first verse as he stopped to look in the direction the man had pointed before continuing his climb. Trying to reach the level of his companion in signing.

"Her breath is the finest of air."
And he goes right into the chorus.
"Oh, blow the man down, bullies, blow the man down
Way aye blow the man down
Oh, blow the man down, bullies, blow him away
Give me some time to blow the man down!"
Terribly too. This one is no skilled singer. And he doesn't care. He's laughing while the Mantis makes it to the level.
"I had feared nobody would know the good tunes."

Kaito grins and joins in on the chorus singing just as terribly as the other man but enjoying it anyways.
"Not Sure if many do have yet to hear much singing this journey myself." He replies as he finds himself a 'seat' "Yoritomo Kaito."

"Kakita Sugita. Well met." Once again, Sugita nods toward the sunset. "The Sea of Shadows. I've never been this far into it. My boat would skirt the coast. Took much longer. Didn't have the sights. Has kind of a dark beauty to it don'tcha think?"

The mantis thought about it for a moment and then shook his head. "Can't say I can see that dark beauty around it you were talking about but then I never was much of a judge of beautiful things." Aside from women that is. "I think i'll stick with finding ever reason I can to dislike it though likely be safer that way."

"Haha!" The Crane's laugh shows in his eyes too. He swings on one foot and hand, hanging outward to face the Mantis. "Probably not a bad idea. Beautiful things can be the death of you." That includes women.

"That's the truth sure enough Kakaita-san." Was Kaito's reply as he flashed a grin. "Heard more then one story in my time of a man falling victim to a beautiful thing."

Sugita grins devilishly. "Any good ones? ... Or do they hit too close to home?"

"Some but not much in the ways of happy endings, not that there would be." He said with a slight frown upon his face. "Never really seen much of it myself so they're all second hand stories for the most part."

"Well... Sounds a lot less entertaining than I'd hoped." ... Sugita turns his back to the rigging and lounges. "Are you sailor born like so many of your kin?"

"Yeah not much of a story teller myself most days unfortunately." He replied to the crane's first comment before continuing on to the next. "Sure am a sailor born though. I've likely spent more time on the water then I have on the land or at least I've tried too. Was even born on the sea."

"That had to of been......." awkarrad, but not as awkward aS bringing it up. "Nevermind. I was born on the shore. Near an ocean watchtower."

Kaito nodded slightly at the response. "You seem to know your way around a ship as well though. Ya been a sailor for a long time as well I take it?"

"Pretty much. Which is why i 'm wondering why they they put us in a training ship."

The Mantis shrugged. "Beats me though I figure they can't crew an entire ship with raw recruits." He said after a moment. "Might also be because they want us to learn what its like in the Imperial Navy as things might not be quite the same as they would be on a clan ship."

Sugita half scoffs. "Bah. How much different could it be? Maybe they'll expect me to shoot someone instead of hope we don't have to."

Kaito considered that for a moment from his seat in the rigging. "Likely that's about right though I think they'd want you to be shooting the right person and not until they order it most times."
"I guess I was more thinking about learning to work with samurai from other clans without holding grudges for clan politics and the like though."
