Though she had intended to practice her dancing a bit more, Iuchi Rinzuki instead found herself standing in the middle of a bank of fog, waving her fan around in an attempt to shoo off the cloying mists. She was dressed much as she had been on previous days, though this today she wore only one layer of her sleeveless white kimono, which now ended at a point right around her knees.
With a look of annoyance, she gives the mists one final 'swat' with her fan and looks around for something else to occupy her time. Dancing was clearly out of the picture, in any case.

Further away, a nonchalant figure was leaning to the railing, lost in his thoughts. The man, as his frame revealed his gender, had draped a cloak around himself to ward off the chill of the morning, his purple kobakama revealing him as a Unicorn.
Were one to wade close enough, they might have been able to hear the man mumbling, keeping his right hand raised before him in a prayer.

Kichirou can't help the small laugh that comes out of his mouth as he makes his way across the aftdeck. He'd never seen fog like this before and found it absolutely fascinating. Quite by chance he found himself within sight of the formerly dancing Unicorn and after a quick bow made his way closer.
Dressed in the 'traditional' sailors outfit left for him the Scorpion certainly felt more like a proper sailor now. Truthfully he found moving about easier as well, "An interesting morning Unicorn-sama." he offers by way of hellos, "Bayushi Kichirou, I don't think I've had the pleasure to meet you properly yet."

"Iuchi Rinzuki," she says, turning to him and bowing. After straightening, she gives the fog another "whush" with her fan. "It is a bit thick, isn't it? I have expect to find ourselves in another realm when it clears up...some domain of dread, or the like."

"Goodness I hope not." he replies with a smile and a tug on his vest, "I'm not dressed for dread."

"Neither am I," she says, looking down at her butchered kimono with a soft sigh. "Maybe a bit of malaise, but certainly not dread."

"I find it exciting personally." Kichirou says with a wide smile, "the uncertainty of what is just around the corner is fantastic." he offers as he pulls out a fan of his own and begins to bat at the fog a bit enjoying the sight of it coiling and parting.

Rinzuki smirks at the sight, and shoos a bit of mist in Kichirou's general direction. "That's all well and good, so long as we don't bump into any tentacle monsters or..."
She catches herself, and offers the Scorpion a guilty look. "My apologies, Bayushi-sama, I forgot that we're not supposed to talk about such things on board the ship. Bad luck or some such."
Another flick of her wrist send more fog coiling away from her. "It is pretty mist, though."

Isawa Junpei's soft footfalls were muffled by the fog rolling across the deck as he headed to the back of the ship. His arms were wrapped around him with his long sleeves creating an extra layer over the front of him. His expression was one of supressed worry, but it was obvious that something dwelt on the Isawa's mind. Spying the group of samurai, he thought it rude not to approach, not to mention he suddenly felt a need for safety in numbers. Not wishing to interrupt he simply bowed to the three samurai and waited for them to either address him or continue with their conversation.

"Do you not put much stock in luck Iuchi-san?" he asks in a light way not pushing just keeping the conversation rolling.
Eyeing the approaching Phoenix the Scorpion bows, "Join us please Isawa-san I trust this misty morning finds you well?"

"Not particularly," she says, with a shake of her head. "The Fortunes do things they wish for their own reasons, as do mortal men and things more foul. We just cannot always see the reasons for something from our perspective."

"Instigation with purpose I wholeheartedly agree Iuchi-san, but what about the outcomes of those actions and plans? Does not luck play a factor in their deciding?" He asks wholly enjoying the largely philosophical argument brewing amongst the fog.

"Of course not." Rinzuki shakes her head. "We have seen, time and again, that the heavens have a plan set out for each of us. Do you believe that Doji Hoturi might have accidentally slipped on a patch of ice as a child, thus killing himself and condemning Ningen-do to darkness thirty years later?"
She makes another half-hearted swoosh with her fan. "We each play out the part fate has written for us, Bayushi-sama. We are irresistibly compelled down pre-ordained paths, with no way to break free from the destinies that have been decided for us."

Junpei might have responded to the Scorpion, but it seemed that he and the Unicorn were quite enthralled in their fatalist discussion. All the same, Junpei did not put on airs of being particularly well at all this morning, his arms wrapping tighter. The sea was not bothering him as it was on other days, no something far more sinister was gnawing at him. Staring off to the south-west he listened to the spirits for several minutes more. Turning back to the gathering, his eyes passed between the two Iuchi trying to figure out how they could be in such gregarious spirits this morning. Maybe they simply hadn't felt the growing absence of the kami and the void they left in their place.
