[Moon 10, Morning - Aftdeck] GROUP A - Fashion 101

PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2011 6:29 am
by Moshi Kaimenko
Kaimenko finished the last form of her daily ritual to greet the rising of the Sun.

The woman exhaled and popped her neck, before shifting to lean against the railing. Her feet were bare and, like the rest of the Half Moon's crew, she was dressed in a sleeveless shirt tucked into a pair of wrap pants. All of it made of cotton and dyed in muted blues and greys. She waits for her ashigaru assistant and 'pupils', enjoying the sun with a small frown on her face.

(OOC: If you don't hit this thread 'on time' assume that your character was here at the appointed hour... unless you don't want them to be for IC reasons.)

The Kitsuki is there, dressed for training. He offers a bow to the Moshi, but says nothing until spoken to.

by Shiba Nozomi
One of the first to arrive, Nozomi is similarly barefoot, and had been for a couple of days now. Her robes were cotton, as well, and mostly plain brownish-grey, with only a few flashes of orange here and there, particularly around the mons. Carefully, a bow is made to the Moshi and Kitsuki, and then she finds an out-of-the-way place to stand.

Having finished his start of the day kata excercises, Bayushi Nobuyoshi heads towards aft deck, a quiet song on his lips.

"...On a kobune bound for glory with a young and wild crew..." he sings to himself.

Upon reaching the training area, he bows as is proper to instructor and trainee, and settles in to wait for however long he is expected to wait.

The scraping of steel upon steel, and the thudding of a heavy pair of feet inform the rest of the crew of the approach of one of the Hida. He takes a place where he doesn't block any views.

With yesterday's clothing still hanging to dry, Sayuri's dressed in the spare, and somewhat nicer, set. Mind you, nicer simply means that the pragmatic cotton top has a charming cherry blossom print across the grey fabric, and her loose pants are a less faded shade of steel blue.

All of which was somewhat hidden by the heavy armor. She'd been told it was a training exercise...that had always meant full armor and weaponry, even aboard the heavy Crab ships. Her feet remained bare though, as they had since arriving on ship.

Seeing the mostly unarmored crowd, she frowns and flushes slightly before bowing and taking a place near the back of the group. After all, she can see over all of them just fine.

Qian-Fan arrives, silk still swishing. One of these days he'll actually manage to remember to adjust his clothing and not just read a book. Oh yes . . . book . . . in hand . . . being read as we speak.

by Yasuki Himiko
Dressed in her standard chest wraps and hakama, Himiko makes her way to the deck. There's a certain... almost girlish bounce to her step, the one of someone who seems far too excited to be doing something as monotonous as training. Her smile was wide and genuine, and even the sight of a Scorpion that she swears she never saw here before does nothing to harm that smile.

Naomi decided to leave her armor off for this training, as nothing had been said specifically about it.
She was dressed in her usual hakama and sleeveless top, with her hair tied back. A bow was given to everyone, a significantly deeper to the Gunso, and she waited for orders.

Slipping into the growing group of trainees Kichirou makes his way near the front. Absently adjusting his mask before bowing to the Gunso. He took a moment to take in how everyone else was clothed his own light armor standing out a bit but he felt mildly comforted by the Crab in their heavy armor. His feet however felt disturbingly covered...

by Isawa Junpei
Miracle of miracles Isawa Junpei had manged to abate his seasickness and join the rest of the crew in their duties. Duties today...Training. Apparently. Dressed in his usual priestly robes, the open sleeves waved in the open air along with his hem. His hair was pulled back into his usual mare's tail, and his shoes, simple-soled slippers common throughout the empire, save perhaps that they were attached to his ankle with a barely noticeable ribbon.

More interested in the sky than the crew, Junpei settled alongside the railing and stared out to the eastern sky. He took in several deep breaths. After the past two days of nothing but misery it was nice to be among the world of the living and he was hellbent on enjoying his return, even if he had to deal with the unpleasant Moshi gunso.

by Bayushi Nobuyoshi
Nobuyoshi watches the various samurai of four clans assemble for the training, each loudly saying who they are by how they are dressed, and how they comport themselves. It mostly goes without comment, though the arrival of the Yasuki after the pair of Hida does elicit a small comment.

"Shelled Crab" he says in a voice easily lost to wind, wave, and the tromping of feet.

Her dark brown eyes rake over her 'students', noting armor, shoes, books and silks. A hand lifts to pinch the bridge of her nose, "Blessed kami, give me patience."

"Alright, you landlubbers, eyes forward and that includes you Agasha-san!" Kaimenko pushes off the railing, feet spread slightly apart as her glare lands on the reading Phoenix. She smiles sweetly, voice dripping with false solicitude, "Unless, of course, we're interrupting something important. Then I'd suggest you take it below decks since I have a tendency to shout."

Dropping his gaze to the assembly, Junpei stood less casually, folding his hands into his sleeves. Moving a touch closer to the rest of the group he stayed near the back.

Kaimenko nods sharply as the Agasha puts away his book. At least she didn't have to make any reports for insubordination on the first day of 'lessons'. "From what the Captain told me, a fair few of you have never served on a boat. So, O-washi-san and I are to give you the basics of ship life for the first two days. Today, we're going to go over clothing and foot wear. First off, can any of you tell me why silk might not be the best of fashion fabrics in a storm...?"

(Please PM me if you're wearing silk or kimono. :3 )

Kichirou was determined to pay attention. Try as he might to stand at attention though he kept feeling his booted feet slipping as the boat pitched. He was managing to stay stationary though it meant nearly constant adjustments from his feet even in calm waters.

So focused was he on keeping his balance that he didn't have time to ponder the answer or even a possible answer to the question asked.
