Well, you wanted a drink, didn't you? Now you get a drink. Enjoy it, Amaya.

She didn't say anything. The boat heaved again and she moved with it naturally, her body tied off to an appropriate tether while she checked the rope lines. She had a hand on a pocket knife she kept with her for grooming and occasions like this. Parangu were too damned unwieldy, regardless of the occasion, and she didn't like splintering the wood of the railings. It left more work for carpenters and weakened the banister, a problem in a later storm. For now, though, she had the unenviable task of making sure that the Mizzenmast ropes stayed intact on her side and didn't pick up too much slack or get too tight. If there was a call, she needed to rush out on that exact length of rope and start either untying, or just as likely cutting the ropes.

Yeah, she'd talk if someone wanted, but she wasn't taking her eye off those ropes and she was listening to those orders if they got called down. She'd been on a ship with a guy who didn't once. She was not going to be 'that guy.'

The latest addition to the crew got a few glances and, once it was determined that the woman knew what she was doing, she was promptly ignored. There was no time for hand-holding. Either she would do her duty or she would screw up and get a reaming.
