Musasha sits alone in the armory carefully oiling his armor and weapons, grumbling all the while. "I don't care that they didn't wake me, but I'm a kami damned member o' this crew, and I 'spect ta have ta help in a storm. I'm going up there as soon as I'm done here and they are gonna let me help tie shit down."

"Well if we just go out there and help they aren't likely to complain." Jishaku gives the big man a nod from the doorway, a quiver full of arrows strapped to his back and his daisho securely tied to his obi. Casually he moves to take a seat beside Musasha and starts working on his arrowheads.

"Yes we do seem to have a few delicate flowers on board don't we. I slept fine thanks, always did sleep better on the water." He pulls out a bundle of arrows and starts sharpening them.

"I think I been at sea too long. In the wee hours, it started ta almost smell palatable. Which made mah brain hurt." He turns his breastplate over, and begins to get the hardest to reach bends in the metal first on that side. "Might get retired fer real if I share that info too often."

"I wouldn't worry too much, Hida-san."
The words, delivered in a jovial bass, emerged from the lips of a man who'd have done Musasha's own family proud as far as size and muscle were concerned. He probably wasn't a Crab, though...though there were scars in plenty on the exposed skin of his arms and chest, the vest and hakama he wore were in assorted shades of Phoenix orange and red. Grinning as he bowd to both men, he added, 'It's only when you stop complaining that they figure you've gone complacent and aren't good for fighting anymore that they'll ship you off to some Temple."
Whistling tunelessly, the big man moved to a small chest near Bishamon-kami's shrine and pulled out a rag and some polish, which he began to apply with gusto.

Musashi bows, "I'll keep that ib mind. But as I told my companion here yesterday, a ship like this is quite a bit less...comfortable...for a man like me. My last assignment was the Turtle Ship Jade Fortress."

The priest didn't seem to mind talking while tending his duties because he replied without skipping a beat. "I've never served on one of the koutetsukan, though I've seen 'em a time or two. No good where we're going, the first real blow and it'd be on it's back fast than a Scorpion geisha."

He nods, "I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I just had no idea I was going to be reassigned until it happened. I don't know if this was meant to be a promotion or...something else."

The big man laughed at that. "Hai, isn't that always the way? I must admit, the Legion Uniform's very striking, at least...helps with offship dalliances now and again. Even if that's not your thing, well...it gets you very good service at most bars."

"How about the local law? A guy built like you and me tend to be treated like ruffians, samurai or not." Musasha seems to have missed the joke entirely.

He snorted. "Local law tends to become very respectful when you tell them you're an officer in the Imperial Legions, though you don't have that particular luxury just yet."
Rising from his task he turned and tapped his chest with his empty hand, bowing again a bit. "I'm one of your gunso, Isawa O-washi. If you find anything amiss with the equipment or you find you need something from stores like more oil for your blades or a replacement for the comb you forgot to pack, you come see me...unless it's one of the weapons topside, that is. Those, you go see Moshi-sama about."

With steps that rolled along with the rocking of the ship, Naomi made her way into the armory. She seemed more comfortable with the waves than the light armor she wore with her. At least it seemed she had the same intention as the Hida for being in the armory.
Spotting the group of men, she paused and bowed. "Minna-sama, ohayo gozaimasu."

His Clanmate got a bow and a quick grin from the big Isawa. "Ohayou, Cousin."

The Crab sort of bows, not being in a position where he can do it properly. "Hello."
After a couple moments, "...erm...pheonix-san..." the second part was definitely an after thought.

Oh of course... I haven't introduced myself. No wonder he hesitated so!
She bowed again. "Forgive me for not introducing myself first... I'm Shiba Naomi, another new recruit. It's a pleasure to meet you all, and my, are we blessed with boisterous weather today!" Her voiced peaked in a light exclamation as she changed her balance as another wave rocked the vessel.

O-washi snorted. "This? This is a bit interesting, maybe, but it's nothing ocmpared to some of the storms we'll get once we hit truly deep water."
Then, as a courtesy, he added, "O-washi, of the Isawa. Gunso."

He shrugs, "So everyone introduces themselves. Got it. In that case, I'm Hida Musasha, a sailor formerly of the Crab."
The titles all seem awkwardly spoken, as does his high rokugani.

Another deep bow was given to O-Washi, not only for his status as Gunso, but more for the sake that he was an Isawa.
"I'm certain that we shall have many fun moments then. Well, with the exception of those of more delicate stomachs, of course, the poor things." She seemed indeed worried for those who easily got seasick.
But, at least the Hida's introduction made her cover her mouth to press down a giggle that wanted to bubble out. "Formerly of the Crab, but still Hida?" Yes, she was innocently poking fun at what he said... well, more of how he had said it.

He looks at the phoenix for a moment, "Yeah, did I mispronounce somethin'?" The joke seems utterly lost on him.
