[Sickbay, Moon 9, Afternoon] Waiting . . . (Open)

Well he definitely expected a few patients this afternoon, if only for one of the buckets stacked against the wall. Qian-Fan drifted around the sick bay with his silks still swishing across the wood. He'd modify them eventually but it really did grate on his mind that he'd have to apologise profusely to the tailors that had made them when he returned. His train of thought was derailed slightly by a roll of the ship. Perhaps he should keep one of those buckets just a little closer . . .

Musasha comes down looking rather stoic. "Oi! Do you have something that'll get the stink of other people's regurgitated fish stew outta my nose? It's making me hungry, which is disturbing."

Qian-Fan studied the Crab for a moment.
"That depends on if you want a pleasant or particularly unpleasant odour to replace it with?"

He shrugs, "Don't care. Don't wanna smell fish stew." He pulls a carrot out of his pocket and takes a huge bite. "Even this damned carrot tastes like it."

Another pause while the Agasha considered the options available before choosing a small packet of what appeared to be crystals rather than herbs from his kit. He offered them across to the Crab.
"These should be up to the task. Don't eat them, just inhale the scent when you feel it is necessary."
/ooc Something ammonium based, pungent and very very bad smelling. Basically a small dose of smelling salts.

The Hida takes a whiff. "Ah, that's better. I can't find feet to be something delicious tasting..." He seems to relax a bit, his heavy armor sagging for a moment before he takes a contented bite of his carrot.

Well that had had the proper reaction. Not exactly what he had expected for his first consultation, but at least he'd been able to help.

The big man offers his carrot, "hungry?"

Qian-Fan looked up with his usual distant expression. Eyes fixed on the carrot for a disconcerting moment before he replied.
"Errr, no thank you, Hida-san. Meals onboard have been quite sufficient."

He shrugs, "Aight. Jus' tryin' ta be social." His armor lifts and falls as he shrugs, and he turns to leave. "Thanks again."

"Any time, Hida-san. It is a pleasure to be of service."
His gaze moves from the orange vegetable and on to the bushi again.

He nods, "Erm...yeah. Thanks again, missy." The Crab bows politely and heads for the door.

Qian-Fan's eyes linger on the bushi as he leaves. He then returns to his book and reads another three or four pages before looking up in some surprise.
"Missy?"

The Crab was half out the door and stops at the question, he turns around, "Erm... Sorry. Missy-san. I ferget my manners. Sorry." The honest look on his face tells he isn't being insulting...on purpose.

Qian-Fan's mouth opened and closed a few times. It wasn't as if this was the first time he'd been mistaken for a woman . . . but he shared berths on the male side of the ship and had thought it wouldn't be a problem here.
"err Hida-san, I can quite assure you that I am male."
To be honest, he sounded much more surprised and not that offended.

The man's head turned 45 degrees to the left. "B-but...you aren't Crane, and...erm...never mind. I'm...er...sorry."
He hurries out of the room...
/exit

His eyes lingered again on the Hida's retreating form.
Well, at least he didn't want to physically check like that Hida last year.
All on his own, Qian-Fan began to blush and buried his face in his book.
