[Moon 8, Morning, Sick Bay] Bucket Brigade

Iuchi Rinzumi moves about the sick bay, checking on supplies and ensuring that everything is in order. She seemed perfectly at home on the gently rocking ship, but it was a fair bet that a few other members of the crew were less lucky.
Given this assumption, she had chosen to wear only two layers of the lesser of her kimono, which had been de-sleeved in the manner that her captain had suggested. A number of buckets were placed near one side of the room, ready and waiting for any sick crew members who stumbled into the sick bay.

The next samurai to enter didn't look particularly sick, but from the way his eyes moved to catalogue what supplies were visible and their location for ease of access should tell the Iuchi this was yet another medical trained samurai. He had yet to adjust his clothing to match the requirements of shipboard activity and the silk swished as he made a bow.
"Iuchi-san, a pleasure. Agasha Qian-Fan, priest and healer."
The voice was quiet and very distracted. He had meant to examine this room the day before but one of his ever present books had distracted him.

"Iuchi Rinzuki," the woman replies, smiling warmly as she returns the bow. "It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance, Agasha-sama."

"No need for the -sama, Iuchi-san. I am a new recruit to the Legion."
There was very little emotion in the voice today.
"Are you here for medical attention, or to provide it for others?"

"The latter." She reaches up to push an invisible strand of hair out of her eyes, even as she looked the Phoenix up and down. "I assume that was your intention as well, Agasha-sama? You do not seem to be suffering from the sea sickness, and while I would be flattered to learn this was a social call, the sick bay seems an odd place to call upon a lady."

Qian-Fan's attention had returned to the supplies and he moved over to the wall mounted table, completely missing Rinzuki's continued use of -sama.
"Healing is one of my primary arts, along with calling down the destructive power of the elements."
He paused staring at the walls for a brief moment.
"They must keep their herbal supplies elsewhere."

"Which elements?" she asks, her tone politely curious. "I have heard that the Phoenix specialize in every element, unlike the Iuchi, who favor the water kami."

"I am aligned with Water, but can call down the fury of all four elements. Only the Void is out of my grasp. The purview of the Ishi."
He reached out and ran one delicate hand down the wood grain of the surgery table.

"I've never met anyone who could do so," Rinzuki admits with an amused smile. "It must be quite a unique experience. Are there even Void Kami? I'm not entirely sure on the metaphysics involved."

A slow shake of the head.
"Not as far as I know, Iuchi-san. For every Ishi that speaks as if there are, there is another who vows there are none. My childish attempts to summon one when I was a student met with nothing but silence and a stern telling off by my sensei for wasting time and energy on a pointless quest."

"Perhaps that is the reason why they are so rare? Because students are chastized for spending the time and effort attempting to speak with them?" Rinzuki leans forward over the surgery table in a friendly manner. "I've never tried, myself."

If she'd expected him to look at her then she would be disappointed as his eyes slowly scanned across the room.
"I have never tried since. My sensei was never wrong in all the time I was her student."
The eyes came to rest on the buckets.
"For the sickness I would presume? Inevitable at sea."

"That was my intent," she replies with a bit of a nod. "You are the first one to show, however, so perhaps the new recruits are more adapted to the rocking of the ocean than I had expected.

"I doubt it will take long. It is beyond belief that the entire crew will be able to avoid it's effects for too long."
The buckets get a cool sweep of his eyes before they fix on a disinteresting part of the wall.

Rinzuki falls silent as she watches the Phoenix, her face propped up by one arm. There was an air of patience about her, as if she were content to wait all day for the conversation to pick up again.

That was good as the Phoenix did not speak again for quite some time. He moved around the room slowly, taking in it's measurements. slowly his gaze came back to his own clothing and then the Unicorn's.
"Are those changes to your kimono normal for naval life?"

"It was a suggestion by the captain," she laughs, pulling herself up to her full height. She looks down at her chest, then her sleeveless arms, and then back to Qian-Fan. "I'm told that the Ivory Kingdoms are a tropical climate, so a normal kimono would just leave me overheated, and weighed down when it eventually became wet."

He nodded and looked away to the room entrance.
"Typical of the Mantis. So uncivilised."

"It's only uncivilized until you're trying to hop about in rigging while carrying twenty pounds of wet kimono. Then it seems like a pretty good idea."
She makes a vague gesture towards the rest of the ship. "Besides, it's not like modesty is going to be much of a virtue aboard this ship. We're all sleeping in one room, men and women alike, and I suspect that the bathing is semi-public as well."

Oh, that got a reaction. A sharp glance and miniscule widening of the eyes.
"That could be quite . . . an unpleasant experience."
Another stare out of the door.
"They said much would be sacrificed in service to the Legion. I expected it to be lives and futures, not kimono silk and dignity."
