(Moon 14, Afternoon, Crew Quarters) Triage

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-fan was quite distracted. Sometime between the Hida stripping and the Iuchi's comment he'd suddenly found the floor to be extremely interesting. He waited for the first round of 'injuries' to be treated before contributing anything further.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"Hi Kitsuki-sama." The Hare says merrily. Really the injury wasn't much to look at. (3 wounds left from 9 originally.)

"While the injuries are minor, treatment will help ward off any secondary effects that could set in."

"Correct. You don't want any residual effects coming back to bite you in the rear later." She nodded mostly to herself while she assessed the damage to his foot. "Well, you're right in that it doesn't look too bad. See this spot here?" Chihiroko indicated with a point of her finger. "Until it's fully healed, be careful not to land on again."

Then she pulled out the bandages and set about wrapping his injury. The Moshi went slowly to show the others how to properly do it. "Any questions?"

[Akodo Jishaku]

Approaching Akodo Jishaku, who seemed to be standing at the back of the crowd, she bows properly low to him, as well. "Akodo-sama, w-would you like a l-little hands-on experience?" A tiny hand extends towards where the gunzo sits waiting.

Jishaku had thought he was near enough to some hands-on experience thanks to the Asahina's invitation, but looking over the expectant gunso he nods. "Very well then Shiba-san. I will leave you for the moment Asahina-san, Daidoji-san." Casually he moves over toward the gunso and stands level with the Kakita.

[Asahina Narumi]

Jishaku had thought he was near enough to some hands-on experience thanks to the Asahina's invitation, but looking over the expectant gunso he nods. "Very well then Shiba-san. I will leave you for the moment Asahina-san, Daidoji-san." Casually he moves over toward the gunso and stands level with the Kakita.

"Very well then Akodo-sama," the priestess replies, refocusing instruction on her other student.

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi makes her way back to O-Washi and looks up at the other two now present. "S-so, your gunzo h-here has a t-twisted ankle, wh-what do you do?"

[Iuchi Xiao Hua]

Having some medical training himself, the Iuchi watched the events with some curiosity.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Nozomi makes her way back to O-Washi and looks up at the other two now present. "S-so, your gunzo h-here has a t-twisted ankle, wh-what do you do?"

The young Lion thinks a moment. Hmm, easy enough. "Well, last time it happened to me I had it wrapped up nice and tight with a bandage, then braced. Something like this I suppose." He throws a bracing bandage together for their inspection. "Best plan is to lie down in your bunk and keep it elevated to keep the swelling down." He looks from Nozomi to O-Washi to see if he'd got it right.

[Isawa O-Washi]

The gunso, who was doing his level best to ham up the 'injury', didn't respond...he, after all, wasn't teaching just now, Nozomi was.

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi watches. "V-very good bandaging t-technique, Akodo-san, but you're forgetting a few things." She carefully unbandages O-Washi's ankle, and neatly folds the materials back up.

"Kakita-san, wh-what would you do?"

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Hoshi was still here, and did her best to follow with watching the multiple examples that were about the room. Bandages weren't her remedy of choice but good to learn still.

[Kaiu Seiko]

Think of it as repairing a ship. Think of it as repairing a ship.

Seiko nodded to herself. Yes. She could do that. Sure.

All the same, she made no move to join the group as either a "patient" or a "medic".

[Volsung]

Fuichi began to apply fresh bandage-work, asking quietly: "So, have you read anything interesting lately?"

Touhi did not respond, she simply sat patiently waiting for the samurai to finish. Clearly he couldn't be talking to her. She was just a peasant. After several long seconds where no one said anything the woman seemed to realize the question had been directed at her.

Her face turned red and she shrank down in her seat a bit. "Umm. I can't read, -sama. Onii-chan can though. He teaches me sometimes..."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi smiled.
"Good, it's important to always be learning. Otherwise we never improve." He produced some paper and charcoal and quickly wrote out directions for making ginkgo tea, as well as treating the swelling. "Take this to your brother and have him make the tea with you. It should help you feel a little more energetic and help with your headaches and memory. Holding ice wrapped in cloth to the swelling should help them go down."

He paused. "May I ask you to repeat that to me?"

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"When you get around to setting his shoulder," Rinzuki points out to her student, "make sure you do it in one sudden, forceful motion. It will hurt the patient, but only for a moment."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Setting the shoulder was he supposed do be setting the shoulder? Didn't you do that before you put the bandages on? A small frown on his face the mantis glances over at his teacher. "Not quite sure how to set his shoulder in place can you show me an example? I figure just tugging on it wouldn't be the right thing to do."

[Hida Musasha]

The Hida just sits there impassively. It's pretty obviously this isn't the first time he's had to have a joint set. "It ain't broken, so don't worry about pain. Jus' do what she says."

[Volsung]

"Make tea, from instructions." Touhi paused, thinking. "And get ice... Erm, -sama. I don't mean to be rude but, where am I supposed to get ice?"

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

Standing nearby watching Fuichi work, Choukichi frowns for a moment when he asks the ashigaru about reading.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi stares at her for a moment in utter silence.
Oh, right. I could just ask the water kami to...oh, yeah. Bad move.

Then he hanged his head. "You probably won't be able to. At least, not until we leave this area. Then I would be very happy to ask the water kami to provide some."

He paused for a moment. "That should be all, except that if you find you're having trouble remembering everyday or important things, like your training or your brother's name, or if you start feeling numb, then you should come to the sickbay immediately. You've had a concussion, so you're not quite out of danger yet, but with a little rest and some more lessons with your brother, you should be back in form very soon."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi acts as if she hasn't overheard the exchange between the Asahina and the peasant he's treating. She even manages not to wince. Ensuring that her focus doesn't stray too much from the matter at-hand, though, she gazes at the Kakita somewhat expectantly.
