[Isawa O-Washi]

This time, O-washi growled at the archers, "Stand down...for a moment, at least." If they knocked out the Yasuki, the captain'd be pissed for sure, he just knew it. So they waited as the big priest swung again, clipping her in the jaw. {{14 damage}}

[Yasuki Himiko]

O-Washi got the feeling that if it were -at all possible- for the Yasuki to keep going, she would have. As it were, the sheer force of the many blows she took knocked her on her ass, and she was FAR too winded to say more than a slightly discouraged, "shit..."

[Hida Sayuri]

Sayuri grins to see the enjoyment of a couple of brawlers going to it. An eyebrow raises at the spearman's comment.

Interrupting her cousin's tussle won't win anyone points, but those arrows are more than a little unsporting in a brawl. Her eyes lit up; but before she could charge off, the gunso had the archers stand down. She bounced on her toes.

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi watches the entire thing with one hand hovering over the small oiled silk satchel at her side and resists the urge to help... mostly because she's not sure which side she should be helping...

Instead she kept the other hand over her mouth to hide the winces as the two exchange slugs. As soon as Himiko hits the deck, Nozomi makes sure she's readily on-hand to give aid, should the Yasuki want it. The little Shiba wasn't sure she'd ask... you never knew with these Crab.

[Isawa O-Washi]

It seemed falling down and not being able to talk was enough of a yield for O-washi. He dropped his stance at once, waving the ashigaru fully away as he extended his hand to the Yasuki, this time as an offer to help her off the deck and over to whichever healer she'd prefer.

He still grinned, despite the marks that were going to be some rather nice bruises in a few hours.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko sighed, then took his hand as a sign of respect. "Yer...not...bad..." she muttered lightly. "I...wanna...fair shot... next time.... no....damn....archers..."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Kichirou had been watching the example intently as well. At the end he nods a bit, "What if we had our own archers Yasuki-san?" he asks though looking right at the Gunso, "Not everyone leaps across the great divide I assume."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Sure." O-washi grinned at her. "I could use the practice."

Over his shoulder at Kichirou he added, "Not a bad plan, though if you hit your shipmate you'll never live it down."

[Hida Sayuri]

"Heading across to take out the archers seems a safer bet." Sayuri's definition of safer seemed to include 'safer for your fellow combatants', rather than 'safer for yourself.'

[Volsung]

"Generally, one person may charge ahead onto the enemy boat to make a hole while you lot stay back and keep them from being overwhelmed. But Yasuki-sama made a mistake in challenging O-Washi-gunso instead of one or both of the archers, which left them free to either shoot at her or keep shooting at the boat." Dageki keeps leaning against the edge of the boat, spear lightly held in hand.

"If we get into a fight at sea, this isn't gonna be about glory. It's gonna be about survival and victory. Singling out and challenging an enemy commander might be well and good in a land battle but it's not gonna do a damn thing for you here at sea."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Satisfied with the answer, Himiko proceeded to close her eyes. She needed some rest. Bastards did some damage.

[Hida Musasha]

The male Hida nods, "Ya did good, cousin. Next time, grab two belayin' pins an throw one at th' face o' one o' th' archers as ya charge 'n' ta confront th' two. Even if ya can't knock 'em both out, ya'll put th' fear o' you inta them. Gives ya time ta hold out fer yer backup."

He shrugs, "Ken I try next?"

[Isawa O-Washi]

O-washi, who wasn't feeling too bad but could feel better, spared a moment to heal himself a bit even as he nodded. "Certainly, Hida-san...Yasuki-san, let Shiba-san there have a look at you while your Clanmate takes his go, eh?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

The Scorpion ponders the ramifications of the second lesson for the day while working on his sword. True, even a Shelled Crab couldn't take out an entire boat by herself, she'd probably be fish food in the first real attack. Though she would at least be a wonderful distraction for the one or two moments while she spent her life's blood. Still, as Crab stupid as her plan of attack had been, it was not wholly without merit. Focusing on the archers would have left the gunso free to pound on her shell-less back. He was not only the bigger prize, but the bigger threat. The confusion of troops when their leadership is removed could be priceless.


"Focus the archers on the leadership, and focus the boarders on the enemy archers" he says quietly to no one in particular.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha waits for the deck to clear and the ready to be given.

[Isawa O-Washi]

O-washi, along with the two archer girls, set up on their 'ship' and waited, readying as well.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha jumps the expanse between the "ships" and rolls to his feet within attack range of the archers. His eyes as cold and dead as the creatures he has killed his entire life.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan still doesn't really understand the finer points of the combat training but he soon spots one thing he can contribute.

"Enemy archers would have a hard time firing if they were dodging Osano-Wo's fury, a whirlwind or the like."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi glances at the Phoenix shugenja.

"Shoot the priests before the commanders?" he wonders audibly, barely. "Not particularly reverent but effective."

[Volsung]

Dageki stands up straight and points a finger at Nobunashi. "Oi! Scorpion-sama. You got somethin' to say make sure the whole class can hear you! This ain't your Scorpion castles where we appreciate the fine art 'o whisperin' secrets!"
