[Moon 12, Morning - Aftdeck, Port-side] GROUP A - Bang Bang

Furaito moved over to one of the ballistas, glancing back at Kai as she now towers over the Scorpion and almost grimaces at the expected outburst from the woman. Then she looked back to her group. "Come on then. Get to work. Let's see if you can actually load one of these things before we try to get fancy and fire barrages."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Kaimenko calmly steps forward to keep the dart from rolling away. She gives the Scorpion a hard look, waiting to see if he's one of those 'delicate' courtiers prone to 'fits'.

With a shake of his head, he recovers quickly enough, most likely too quickly to be prone to fits, but probably too slowly to simply be faking. No obvious signs of bleeding or trauma, though.

Quickly and quietly, he takes the pin back off the ground, and tries to reload the ballista as per orders.

Not particularly quickly, but he does manage to properly reload the dart.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

Her eyes narrow at the Scorpion before she wheels away to turn her eyes back towards the rest of the trainees.

Once everyone has had a turn loading the devices, Kaimenko paces gracefully past each ballista to remove the pins holding them stationary. "Right, next thing we're going to go over is how to fire one of these. It's damn simple, pull the trigger, you'll hear a whumf and the dart will go sailing. Aiming's the hard bit and I believe you lot can figure that out rather easily by doing."

A small frown crosses her features as she looks out to sea, squinting through the fog as she mutters beneath her breath. There was nothing to see. Kaimenko shakes her head and turns back to the group as she tucks the pins away. "Same groups, pick one to load, one to fire and two to aim. Person firing is giving orders. Got it?"

Behind the woman, in the fog, the more observant could catch a hint of movement (Inv/Perc - TN 15).

[Shiba Naomi]

Naomi was about to follow the new order, and threw a glance at the fog.

Did she see something there, perhaps?

[Hida Musasha]

The big Hida after trying to load it, and succeeding, moved to help aim the device. "I've done this before."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan watched the Crab load and then peered past him into the fog.

Was that something moving?

[Hida Musasha]

The male Hida didn't even register anything in the fog. He just took his place.

[Volsung]

Furaito was standing in the commander position for the group of Hida Musasha, the Scholar, and Bayushi Kichirou. She made no effort to see the new target before her though. Leaving that to her new crew.

[Suzume Satsuki]

Satsuki moves up to the group of Hida Sayuri and Bayushi Nobuyoshi. "Hi! Mind if I join you for this exercise?"

She tilts her head with a little frown and peers out into the mist, noticing the movement. "Huh. Odd."

[Moshi Kaimenko]

As the mist drifts aside, two ships come in to view with their ballista primed and pointed at the Half Moon. It appears that the 'enemy' used the cover of the fog to sneak along side the Imperial command ship. They flew no insignia and if one's eyes were particularly good, they would notice that not all of its crew look to be quite alive.

[Hida Musasha]

The Hida, spotting the evil as it comes out of the fog, goes into action despite being surprised.

[Suzume Satsuki]

Satsuki, having noticed the movement beforehand, is quick to act, as well.

Furaito's eyes are keen, but she isn't as quick as some

[Hida Sayuri]

Satsuki moves up to the group of Hida Sayuri and Bayushi Nobuyoshi. "Hi! Mind if I join you for this exercise?"

She tilts her head with a little frown and peers out into the mist, noticing the movement. "Huh. Odd."

Sayuri, attention drawn from another of the Bayushi's 'fits', blinks, and smiles at the Sparrow. "Ya actually know how ta' work this thing...more'n happy ta letcha."

Her eyes follow the Sparrow's and narrow as she squints into the fog, trying to bring the vague movement into focus. As the ships slip into full view, she's moving for the ballista, one hand reaching to her tetsubo as if to reassure herself it's right where she left it. "Jump to it then, birdie!"

[Bayushi Hoshi]

"Target!" Hoshi managed to call out on the alert when she noticed the formation of enemy ships that were making their attack on theirs. She immediately went on the ready to repel these interlopers away (Initiative: 21)

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko not only noticed that the things were coming, but was fairly swift on her feet as well... at least for a crab.

The Kitsuki readies himself for combat!

[Bayushi Kichirou]

The fog proved problematic for Kichirou. So much so that he was caught slightly off guard when the call for combat came. Taking up position to help aim along with the Hida he did his best to recover.

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Actual combat breaking out had also caught Nobuyoshi off guard. Once he recovers, He'll do well (40). But often in combat one round of surprise was all you needed.
