[Moon 12, Morning - Aftdeck, Port-side] GROUP A - Bang Bang

[Bayushi Hoshi]

Thankful that she was able to dodge the gaze of the Moshi, her eye gave a quick sweep of the number of samurai available on deck. She caught the shy Shiba approaching the Kitsuki from her search and wasn't bothered enough by superstition to have numbers affect her choice. In a training exercise anyway. She stepped up beside Nozomi and bowed politely. "If you don't mind partners becoming a group, I would like to join in with you two as well. Shiba-san. Kitsuki-san. This one is Bayushi Hoshi."

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan stepped in front of the Man Mountain Crab.

"Shall we, Hida-san?"

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Stepping to Musasha's side Kichirou offers the big Crab and smaller Phoenix a bow, "If you don't mind Hida-san, Agashia-san, I hope we can work well as a team."

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko took in all of the information quietly, and at the behest of the Moshi, she approached Shiba Naomi. "Shiba-san, wanna work tegether?'

[Hida Sayuri]

Sayuri, glances around at the groups rapidly forming. Not with other clan..that group's got three already...so...

One eyebrow rises. really?

She nods to Bayushi Nobuyoshi. "You'n me then?"

Nobuyoshi nods.

"It would seem that we have little choice in the matter, Hida-san." Nobuyoshi offers, raising his voice slightly when talking to Sayuri. "At least we have the example of Kaiu Jinto to guide us."

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

Nozomi had been watching everyone, as well as the presentation. Approaching the Dragon, her polite bow is a bit shy. "D-Dragon-san? I'm Sh-Shiba Nozomi. W-would you like to p-practice with m-me?"

He'd been watching just about as closely as she had. It spoke volumes to her.

The Dragon returns her bow and his mismatched eyes that been looking at the ballista focused on her now.

"I'd be delighted, Shiba-san. Oh, and I'm Kitsuki Kotsu."

The Kitsuki bows to the new Scorpion.

"I have no objections, Bayushi-san."

[Moshi Kaimenko]

"Oh Bless the Ancestors, they can be taught," Kaimenko checks the pins to make sure her ballista was stationary before giving the Sparrow and her heimen helpers a sharp nod. "Let's go people! I want each and every one of you to load and unload this ballista at least once! And you damn well better believe I'm timing you!"

Training Excercise Mechanics

• Loading and Unloading the Ballista: Engineering (Siege)/Int - TN 15
• Raises for faster time or smoother moments
• Failing by 5 or more means you drop the dart and must start again

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi inclines her head towards the Bayushi, wondering if the other woman had chosen the Kitsuki for the same reason. Looking back at the Dragon, her milky eyes meet his mismatched ones for only a moment before carefully being moved back to the ballista. "A-a pleasure."

She seems to brighten just a minuscule amount as she studies the thing a bit longer. Her little fingers make small movements as she rehearses the motions required to load and unload the piece of artillery in her head.

[Suzume Satsuki]

The Sparrow gives a quick half-bow at the sharp nod, figuring the Moshi wouldn't want her to waste time, and goes about her task of keeping an eye on the activities of the other groups. There is still, of course, a spring in her step as she does so, and not just because it was ever-present anyway.

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

Seeing that their team has been settled, the Kitsuki turns his attention to the matter at hand. He first checks the pins that secure the siege weapon in place on the deck. He then begins going over the loading process step by step in his mind, before even putting hand on the device.

That done, he actually begins to load the dart...and does a reasonable job at it. It's not the fastest, nor terribly smooth. But it is done correctly.

Practice will make better. I hope.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko moves first for her group, lifting up the dart casually. All in all, she does a fair enough job, though certainly not anything impressive. "There," she muttered lightly.

[Hida Musasha]

Qian-Fan stepped in front of the Man Mountain Crab.

"Shall we, Hida-san?"

Stepping to Musasha's side Kichirou offers the big Crab and smaller Phoenix a bow, "If you don't mind Hida-san, Agashia-san, I hope we can work well as a team."

Musasha nods, "I ken work wi' anyone, I'm real friendly like that." He waits their proper turn then lets the others play with the machine first. "I ain't too keen on bein' the one firin' this thing, but I ain't gonna balk from duties. I'll take my turn last so as I ken take my time. I don' want ta break nothin'."

[Bayushi Hoshi]

“Good.” Hoshi said in approval once that everyone in the team had been accepted in their place, offering a moment's smile threw her eyes in encouragement. "Let's focus on getting this done correctly before we do so quickly."

Her attention then easily drifted to the group's ballista, there were a few nods given when Kotsu fulfilled his first try with the weapon. She stepped up next give it her personal shot. Naturally, Hoshi was going to be one to overshoot it.

"Correctly." She said to herself. Going at a slow pace, she loaded and unloaded the ammunition with better results.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan nodded to the large Hida and moved to check the pins were in place. He had been watching the Moshi after all.

"Then I shall make the first attempt."

He breathes in for a moment and grasps a dart. Almost immediately he misjudges the length of the missile and raps the end against the wood of the ballista, loses balance and drops the dart at his feet. It rolls to his bare feet and stops.

"Wonderful."

With a frown he bends down to try again. This time he barely gets the round into the proper place, but it's there and it would fire properly. He steps back to allow the Bayushi a go.

"Not quite as easy as it would seem."

[Moshi Kaimenko]

The woman's mouth twitches as first the Scorpion then the Phoenix manage to fumble their attempts. She resists the urge to roll her eyes simple because it wouldn't allow her to keep them beneath her glare.

[Hida Sayuri]

Nobuyoshi nods.

"It would seem that we have little choice in the matter, Hida-san." Nobuyoshi offers, raising his voice slightly when talking to Sayuri. "At least we have the example of Kaiu Jinto to guide us."

"S'long as we stick the pointy end that way," she points out to sea, "I think we'll be alright. An this thing won't do nearly that kinda damage."

When it's their turn with the ballista, with the confidence born of...nothing really, Sayuri cranks back the ballista and drops a dart in. Were it not for the fact that she was concentrating a bit extra on the unfamiliar task, something unfortunate would have probably occurred.

"Not so bad, even if it looks a bit intimidatin'"

[Shiba Naomi]

Himiko took in all of the information quietly, and at the behest of the Moshi, she approached Shiba Naomi. "Shiba-san, wanna work tegether?'

"Sure thing, Himiko-san," Naomi offered with a friendly grin and got to work with her teammate.

Once it was her turn, she repeated the procedure without fault. Perhaps not with the ideal speed, but it was a thoroughly done task.

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

With his Hida partner having loaded the ballista, it's not a huge matter to unload it. Just reverse the order of the levers and grab the dart when it released from the mechanism.

Or he could grasp his head in sudden pain and let the dart fall to the ground instead...

[Moshi Kaimenko]

Kaimenko calmly steps forward to keep the dart from rolling away. She gives the Scorpion a hard look, waiting to see if he's one of those 'delicate' courtiers prone to 'fits'.
