[Moon 11, Morning - Aftdeck] GROUP B - Fashion 101 Take 2

[Moshi Kaimenko]

(OOC: Anyone who joins after this point is assumed to have gotten here on time unless otherwise stated)

"Fortune's be praised! Someone was paying attention at O-washi-san's lessons yesterday," she casts he eyes up to the heavens before fixing them back on her students. It would take a deaf man not to catch the sardonic undertone in the woman's voice as she continues, "Since the gulls seem to have stolen the rest of your tongues... you don't want to wear silk because it tends to trap heat, it dries slower than cotton, and after drying from soaking, shrinks. If you haven't noticed already, we don't have a laundry to take care of your fripperies all the loving attention they deserve."

"That said, can any of you tell me why I've chosen to be so indecent as to go about barefoot and in a short-sleeved top. And in case any of you smart-alecks want to imply I'm a two-zeni trull, I will be more than happy to introduce you to the fires of Osano-wo for impinging upon my honor."

She crosses her arms, dispensing that basilisk's glare evenly and without favor.

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru stands in the rear of the group dressed in a brown hakama and white Kimono top. The kimono has short sleeves that come down to the elbow. It is identical as the one worn yesterday and is indeed in the same pristine condition. He is quite as he listens to the Moshi's instruction and the "classes" response to her questions.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki takes a moment to assess Kaimenko's wardrobe before speaking up.

"Because Moshi-sama looks so good in it?" she offers, a hopeful tone to her voice.

[Shinjo Qulan]

"Because it happens to be practical? Especially in such weather?" Qulan answered up once more. She did think it looked comfortable.

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru nods in agreement with the Shinjo but wants to smack himself in the face as he listens to the lunatic Iuchi prattle on.

[Asahina Masamichi]

"Easier to move about on deck and the rigging with less constraints." Masamichi barks, deftly moving along with the shifting of the ship.

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

The very little time he has spent with Kaimenko is more than enough to let Choukichi know she would not take tardiness well, and so he makes sure to arrive promptly, barefoot and dressed in the same simple pants and sleeveless vest he wore the day before. He listens politely to the lesson but having learned all of this as a child, keeps his mouth chut and lets those with less time at sea do the answering.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

Kaimenko gives the Iuchi a withering look. She knew exactly what the Unicorn was about and was not at all amused. There were no blushes for Rinzuki, only a comment that was dry enough to wick the moisture from the air, "How observant. Now, princess, I know it's really hard for you to keep your attention in one place for more than a few minutes because of all those happy, shiny thoughts... but for your own sake, and I do mean this, try. Try very hard."

The woman's attention shifts to the Shinjo, "You have a talent for the obvious," before moving on to the barking Crane, "Better. Keep in mind, my lambkins, flowing cloth also has the unfortunate habit of winding around things like ropes. It's inconvenient at best and will get you killed at worse."

"Choukichi-san! Why do sailors go barefoot?" her gaze fixed on the Yoritomo.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki blinks at the Moshi's words, then bites her lips as she lowers her eyes to the deck.

[Asahina Masamichi]

The Asahina having taken assesment of the instructors desires silently kneels and ties up the slack of his hakama in a practiced fashion to be sure it stays clear of movements.

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru's lip twitches every so slightly as he watches Rinzuki's reaction to the Moshi's harsh yet truthful words.

[Yoritomo Choukichi]

When adressed, Choukichi answers simply.

"Better grip, and no risk of getting sandals or the like caught or lost in the rigging, and keeps you closer to the ship, better able to feel her troubles."

[Moshi Kaimenko]

Choukichi gets a nod, while her attention shifts to the other Lion, "And Ikoma-san, why do we not wear armor on board?"

[Ikoma Hikaru]

"I believe there are a few reasons Moshi-sama. First if you fall in the water you will sink like a stone. Second, it would be easy to get a strap caught in the rigging and third it can cause damage to the metal parts of said armor just as it would your katana or wakizashi." Hikaru says calmly. It is all really a guess but it seems logical to the Lion that those would be the major reasons.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku observes the others as they answer, inwardly groaning at the Iuchi's response and glad that his cousin the Ikoma seemed to have the right idea. He grips the deck with his toes, enjoying the sensation.

[Moshi Kaimenko]

"Wonderful, that covers the basics," she pushes off from the railing, hands clapping in a sharp gesture. Six ropes are brought to the gunso and laid out in neat coils. "Now, who wants to volunteer for the next part of the lesson?"

The stone-faced woman actually smiled as she glanced over the crowd.

[Asahina Masamichi]

Masamichi steps forward to volunteer.

[Ikoma Hikaru]

HIkaru also steps forward quietly. Better to get this over with and besides if she had to choose volunteers it would more than likely be worse.

[Shinjo Qulan]

Qulan also stepped forward, eager to help.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

The mantis looks around for a moment and steps forward as well. A little bit of volunteering never hurt that much.
