[Hida Musasha]

Armor kicks it down to 13, leaving the man Nicked.

He lunges at the little peasant girl, rolling a 30 after the fog in his brain threw his accuracy off.

The girl turned out to be surprisingly sqirmy, her natural grace and preparedness just letting her avoid the hold.

The other ashigaru, now effectively 'overboard', shifted into a comfortable seiza and watched the fight with interest as the big Isawa impacted with armor instead of the vulnerable flesh he'd hoped to, letting out a grunt of annoyance as much as pain. "Damned bloody sodding Hida...might as well be punching stone..."

The big man says, "Sorry sensei." And he slams his head into O-washi. 33

[Shiba Naomi]

"Wow."
The little Shiba flinched slightly at that maneuver. "Owwie..."

Musasha was surely impressive when it came to fighting, but she felt a bit worried for O-Washi now.

[Isawa O-Washi]

Strangely, the big Isawa laughed, though he sprayed a healthy dose of blood out of his newly-broken nose as he did so. "That...is more...like it..."

Not one to continue a fruitless effort when he'd be hard pressed to see straight, much less hit anything, O-washi signalled a yield and then sat down right where he was, still laughing.

[Volsung]

Dageki nodded slowly. "I think someone just nominated himself for boarding duty."

[Hida Musasha]

The big man shrugs, "Sorry again, Sensei." He looks at the ashigaru he dropped on deck, "Didn't really want ta hurt any of my crewmates, but I had to make sure to show my skills. You can't place me properly if I don't take it seriously."

He bows deeply to O-Washi, waiting to be sent back to the ranks.

[Isawa O-Washi]

O-washi waved off the apology. 'Eh, I've been in worse brawls in a bar. Good showing, Hida-san."

Rocking his head on his neck he stood, slowly, and managed not to fall over. "All right, now that you've seen an example...group up, you lot. I want all the bushi to try boarding at least once and everyone, no matter profession, is going to defend."

The Hida steps into the group to find a bushi to help defend against...

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

At least two more fights Nobuyoshi ponders. It's going to be one of those days. Shame I can't treat my own wounds.

The wound from the spearmen wasn't really bothering him, and was nothing compared to the wounds the gunso had taken. Still, it'd give a nice advantage to whichever fresh as a daisy crewmate got to fight with him.

Guess I'll focus on not getting hit

Nobuyoshi moves to the line for boarding actions, since that'd be harder to do after a defense.

[Isawa O-Washi]

With the help of the 'overboard' ashigaru, the gunso staggered out of the 'ocean' to give the others some room. Hurt though he was, he was still a tensai...the water kami came to his call as eagerly as ever, happy to heal their friend.

[Hida Sayuri]

Sayuri's been remarkably quiet--almost absent--through the only semi mock battles. Her frown might be aimed at any number of things: her cousin's meat-shield tactics, the not-so-pulled punches, the gunso's bloody nose. But things are about to be too busy to busy for anyone to ask a scowling Crab what she's scowling about.

She looks around at the group...

And approaches the tiny form of Shiba Nozomi. "C'mon, if yer gonna have someone like my cousin there charge at you, may as well be defending next ta a brick like me." She nods toward the defending side of the line with eyebrows raised in question.

[Yasuki Himiko]

Himiko walks over to Sayuri and Naomi. "Mind if I join the two of ye? I think I need ta redeem myself a bit."

[Hida Sayuri]

Sayuri nods her own acquiescence.

"Y'did fine against gunso an pair o'archers. Archers're a pain."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Snapped out his own drifting mind by the Gunso's orders to group up Kichirou began to cast his gaze about for any group willing to take him on. He knew he'd have to attack as well as defend but obviously he couldn't do it the same way as the Hida had. It required further thought and with luck he might get that chance if he was allowed to defend for the first couple rounds as opposed to attack.

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi eyes widen slightly as the two rather large and intimidating-looking women move to flank her. She examines them both for a moment, before adding in all seriousness,"You can d-do better y-yet, Yasuki-san... I'll h-help."

Already knowing what scroll she wants, Nozomi readies it for when their combat begins.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

Qian-Fan looked through his scrolls before selecting two to place at the front, ready for use.

"Isawa-sama, do you wish us to use battle prayers as just a demonstration of what we are capable of, or live practise of what boarders can expect of a defending priest?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shakes his head as the two Phoenix discuss the concept of "Live" practice of battle magic. Well, one discussed, and one just got ready to do it.

"Invoking the kami themselves against us doesn't seem like practice." Nobuyoshi offers, his voice uncaring. "If they do that, the boarders won't have any options but to use full force against the shuegenja."

[Isawa O-Washi]

Qian-Fan looked through his scrolls before selecting two to place at the front, ready for use.

"Isawa-sama, do you wish us to use battle prayers as just a demonstration of what we are capable of, or live practise of what boarders can expect of a defending priest?"

The big gunso, who's nose was visibly realigning itself, shook his head. "Ije, this is just the basics for now. Don't worry, priestly might will be shown later on."
