Gotta get it done right (Moon 12, Early Morning, Armory)

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "Keep yer eyes open, I've met several attractive samurai-ko."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi blushed a second time. Close one "I'm sure. But, and again, I am new to this, but isn't...um...fraternizing rather discouraged?"

[Hida Musasha]

He shrugs, "Don' mean ya can't fancy someone. Pay 'er a bit o' attention an' make 'er feel nice. Also, ya gotta have somethin' ta keep ya goin' out here."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi nodded in agreement. "That's true, certainly." He glances around the room, looking for an interesting piece of woodwork. "What do you do when you're not conquering the hearts of lovely samurai-ko and polishing your armor, Hida-san?"

[Hida Musasha]

He keeps working oil into his gear, "I mostly just polish my armor, not really a conqueror. As for anything else, I train and I fight and I serve. Not a lot else to do on a boat."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi cocked his head.
"You don't enjoy go or anything?"

[Hida Musasha]

He snorts, "What's to enjoy? You sit there for two hours when you could be doing work. And what do you do? You look at a bunch of squares and circles. Might as well be takin' a sh*t, that'll at least leave you feeling better for a couple hours."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi's brow furrowed. "An...interesting viewpoint. Most see the game as an allegory for life. Something tells me that you're not very interested in allegories, though."

[Hida Musasha]

He shrugs, "Don' get 'em. Ya tell a story, an' ya should know what it means, thinking about it wastes time."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fukurokujin, why do you hate people so?

"I see," the Crane says, trying very very hard to remain upbeat. "Well...I suppose I disagree slightly, but I suppose that was bound to happen. Actually, I was just about to start my favorite pastime: woodcarving." He moves toward a likely plug o' wood.

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "Belayin' pins are useful on a ship. Unless yer makin' somethin' bigger. A spar fer th' ship, 'er a spear?"

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi shruged. "I suppose a spear would at least be looked upon favorably by the others."

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "Weapon o' choice of Bishamon. This room would be very lucky fer such an endeavor."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi smiled at that. "Then it shall be done."

He took up a slat and sat down to work. Soon, his eyes glazed over as the sounds and patterns of knife on wood carried his mind far away from the Half Moon. At work there was only the Crane and his art.

The big man let him work, falling into finishing oiling his armor and weapons.
