Bloody rain, interfering. Least the storms are done. There should be enough light at least a little, to see if there's something worth seeing.
She frowned to herself, walking out into the middle of the heavy boxes tied down not far from the ship and looked over the lip into the water. With a slow breath in and out, she let the last of her air out of her lungs and lunged over the edge and into the bay with as small of a splash as possible, plunging deeper towards the bottom to get a feel for how murky the bay's waters were after the churn of the storm.

The port had survived the storm mostly intact. Most of the tents had fallen sometime during the storm, and several boxes and other items that had not been tied down well enough were now floating in the water. Several fishing boats had only their prows sticking out of the water now, and a pleasure yacht looked as though it had taken on water during the storm. Still, with a sheltered harbor made of stone, most of the ships in harbor were fine. People were moving about again, untying their goods or setting up what had been tipped over. No one was paying attention to the barbarian as she dived into the water.
It was like diving into a thick paste. Sheltered harbor or no, the winds had whipped the silt of the harbor up into massive clouds that were still floating in the water, cutting visibility down significantly. Towards the top, some of the sediment had settled, but it would be late into tomorrow before the waters were clear again.

Amaya scowled beneath the water, opting to swim upwards to the surface and move towards the nearest pier. Whatever she could possibly have needed or wished to learn, the darkened, silt-laden waters would be of little to no use. Plunging her head above the waves just before her lungs started burning, she opted to save herself any troubles and began scrambling up one of the ropes nimbly, settling on the pier and shaking the worst water out.
"Need'a durned bath," she muttered.

The wooden pier Amaya plops herself down on has seen better days, and is still slick with water. One of the guards who had arrived on the docks today just before the storm had started was standing on the end of the pier, keeping a watchful gaze on the harbor, though it's not hard to see that his attention returns regularly to the Half Moon and her company of ships.

Amaya waved to the man and grunted. "Ya speak my language?" she said, shaking herself more and looking in the direction he was looking after making a quick bow to him. She could wait to see if he did, though she lacked one of the translators right about now. She hadn't expected to need one for talking to fish, after all.

The man looked down at the foreign woman. "Well enough. What were you looking for down there?" The guard's head turned to indicate the water. His tone mostly inquisitive.
