Son of a... (Day 4, Mid-Morning, Open)

Stepping off of the boat with a huge smile, Jayant smells the city air with a look of joy on his face. He looks as though he is home, though he still has to walk with a simple cane that had been carved for him by some of the peasants on the Half Moon. One of the heimin from the Embassy has been sent back to the ship and now hovers nearby to help the man in case he runs into trouble.

The Rhuumali barely seems to notice the man however as he looks back at the harbor and frowns slightly. "Not right. There should be more ships."

Kakita Sugita, who has not yet stepped off the boat, looks down at the paused gaijin, wondering if he'll need prodded forward. "You're home gaijin. Good for you. Now git."

Jayant looks at the man with a raised eyebrow, then turns to the translator who decides some things are better left untranslated. A look of annoyance cross the man's face for a moment but he still presses his hands together and bows slightly to the Kakita. "Namaste."

The translator speaks up. "He says thank you for the hospitality, Kakita-sama."

"Yeah, sure. He should damn well feel honored." Sugita waves with a completely fake smile. "Bad luck to have a gaijin on board. What madness has he wreaked already?" mutters Sugita.

The translator speaks to Jayant in the same flowing garbled language and the gaijin smiles as well, though his appears to be more sincere. He speaks to the translator who then turns to the Kakita again.

"Jayant Utpal, Ward of House Pandavah, asks if he could have the honor of knowing your name, Kakita-sama."

"Kakita Sugita." The Crane even gives a quick bow, of sorts. "He's welcome."

Jayant hears from the translator and is still smiling. Looking out over the docks again, and notably not moving away from the ship any further than he already had.

Then Jayant seems to spot something and his body freezes, instantly tense. He starts muttering in his own language again. The translator looks from Jayant to the ship, and then back at Sugita. "I... he says 'They're here. By the, err, Kami, they are here'."

The translator looks fairly lost as to what any of that might mean and obviously hopes the Kakita might know more.

Sugita reflexively looks out that direction, trying to see something amiss. His eyes squint and brows furrow in confusion.

Having concluded his meeting with the Captain, Cub decided to start the rest of the day with a look around the harbour. He wanted to get a feel for what forces were gathered here before moving out into the city proper. "Good morning Kakita-san." With a light bow to the Kakita he stepped from the ship and onto the land, pausing a moment to readjust to the non-swaying, yet seemingly swaying, dock. His gaze flicks over the gaijin. "So, I suppose this would be our survivor?"

"... Hai." The Crane is a little distracted at the current time.

"Is something...amiss?" You know, aside from the whole ships being attacked and us ending up in a queer little gaijin port.

The gaijin was looking at the grouping of sea worthy vessels, though which one exactly he was looking at was hard to say.

He turned back to the three Rokugani behind him.

"The ship that sank mine. She's here."

There is obvious dread behind the Rhuumali's eyes.

Jishaku's demeanor changes immediately. He takes three quick steps up to the gaijin and lowers his voice. "Which is it? Don't point, we are probably being watched." "Neh?"

Sugita looks down at the Lion, eyes wide, a look of horror and disgust feuding on his face.

Setting foot off The Half Moon for the first time in days Bayushi Kichirou was determined to make the most of his time ashore. He had donned his armor like a familiar blanket and bore his daisho. He knew it would cause him to stand out but really as a foreigner in a foreign port he would likely stand out anyway. His steps slowed as he moved passed the small grouping of Gaijin, Crane and Lion. It was subtle but there was a tension in the air...Scorpion always had a nose for this kind of thing.

Hanging back, a few steps away from the group Kichirou watched and waited to see what would happen next...

Jayant doesn't seem to care about the Lion's proximity as he looks back at the ships. "Fourth from the left, with the four handed flag in blue."

The ship in question is completely different in design from any ship Jishaku has ever seen, but that is no surprise as all of these ships look strange and alien to him. It does not look all that different from the others at its side however. Approximately the same size and shape. With a few details such as the flag to differentiate it from the others.

Again keeping his voice low he replies. "Thank you. Would its crew be likely to wear any particularly identifiable devices?" Jishaku turns to look at the others. The Kakita's expression receives a cool glare, the Scorpion gets a nod. "This gaijin has spotted the vessel that destroyed his own."

"Sounds ominous....should we go investigate?" Kichirou asks looking at the ships further down the docks, "We might learn more about these mysterious attackers....of course we might also find trouble."

Here Sugita thought a Lion would be a swell guy. Utter failure. He glances over the the Bayushi, and back to the Akodo. Then he puts his hands up like he wants nothing to do with this. ... Because he wants nothing to do with this.

"We should inform the command staff immediately, and then I think a walk around the harbour to look at some ships is in order." He looks up at the apparently disgusted Kakita. "Are you going to join us Kakita-san, or remain aboard ship?" Looking like you just threw up in your mouth...Hmm, can we have two Fulmars on board?
